Adam Burish-
"Delia, I told you I didn't like him." Adam said. I never understood why he didn't like any of the guys I went on dates with.
"Adam, you say that all the time." I sighed, looking at my phone. It was about 6PM after I got home from another unsuccessful date. The guy, Daniel, wasn't a real charmer to say the least. After the date, I went over to Adams house for our weekly movie night. It has been our tradition ever since we were little kids many years ago.
"What movie do you want to watch?" Adam asked as he stood from beside me.
"Lets watch Tangled." I laughed. Honestly, that was my favorite movie thus far. Although I was in my late twenties, that movie is the best. Adam walked into his room, quickly turning on the light. I assumed he walked in to look for the movie, but a minute later he walks out shirtless with a pair of sweatpants on. He hands me one of his t-shirts and old shorts to change into, and I walk to the bathroom. I can't deny that I have feelings for Adam, especially since my early teenage years, but he never showed any interest in me so I've attempted to push those feelings aside. I unzip the dress, and quickly replace it with the clothes, rolling up the shorts so they would fit. I wipe most of my makeup off, and walk out to the living room. Adam was sitting on the couch staring blankly at the ceiling. I quietly sit next to him, him not breaking his trance. I slowly raised my finger and poked him on the cheek and he finally broke his trance with a smile. He pressed play on the remote, and the movie began to play.
Somewhere around the middle of the movie, I was curled up next to Adam, resting my head on his shoulder, almost asleep. Adam had grabbed blankets and covered us both, trying to keep warm. Your eyes were closed, and Adam whispered something.
"Why can't I just tell you.. I love you." He whispered. He must have thought I was asleep, so I slightly stirred, and looked up at him. His face automatically turned a deep shade of red, as he looked down on me. I couldn't help the smile that came across my face, and I leaned in to kiss him. Our lips connected, and it was a feeling I have never felt before. It was complete and utter passion and love. It wasn't rough, it was sweet and longing. You pulled away just enough to whisper a quiet 'I love you too' to Adam. He smiled, and connected our lips once again.
-Adam POV-
After last night, I finally asked Delia on a date. I was taking her to dinner at BACCO, the new Italian restaurant that opened in town. I walked up to her house, and knocked on the door. I fixed the collar of my dress shirt with one hand, while holding her favorite flowers in the other. I slicked my hair back for the hundredth time, and finally the door opened. She looked stunning to say the least, her long strawberry blonde hair curled and a white long dress with a floral bust. Her makeup was done very lightly, highlighting her paler skin color. I smirked at her, and handed her the flowers, daisies to be exact. She placed them on the counter beside her door, and thanked me. She grabbed her clutch, and shut the door behind her. I grasped her hand as we walked down the hallway to the elevator."Del, you look stunning, beautiful." I said to her, watching her face heat up and her smile.
"Thank you Adam. You don't look too bad yourself." She replied. We reached the elevator, and pushed the down button.
Once we reach the restaurant and get seated, Delia looks over the menu and chokes on the water she was drinking.
"A-adam.. It's so expensive here." She whispered. "I don't want you to pay for me." I couldn't help but chuckle at her.
"Babe, I got it. It's fine really." I tell her. The waitress comes to take our orders, and we sit in a comfortable silence.
After we ate dinner, the check came and Delia still insisted on paying, but I quickly slipped my card in the book, and handed it back to the waiter. She quickly came back and gave us the receipt, and we get up to leave. As we walk out the doors, we take a quick detour to the park a block up from the restaurant. We find a little bench to sit on, the stars in the sky prominent. She leans her head on my shoulder looking up as I wrap an arm around her pulling her close. I felt nervous, the ball of nervousness taking over my senses.
"Del..." I trailed. She hmmed and I continued. "I really like you, and I have for awhile. You have been my best friend for a long time, and I can't stand to see you with someone else. Delia, please be my girlfriend?" She smiled and nodded, quickly bringing our lips together.
