📖 (4 months pregnancy)
Akshu sat on the couch, gently rubbing her small but growing baby bump, her face a mix of joy and uncertainty. She felt a flurry of emotions at once—excitement, nervousness, and even occasional sadness that she couldn't quite explain. But today, she was happy, her hand subconsciously resting on her stomach as she smiled to herself.
Veer, who was working on his laptop from the bed, looked up and noticed the soft glow on her face. He set aside his laptop and walked over, sitting beside her. "What's going on in that beautiful head of yours?" he asked softly, brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
Akshu chuckled, "I was just thinking... how weird it is. One moment I feel like crying over the smallest things, and the next, I'm so happy, I can't stop smiling." She gave him a playful pout. "It's all your fault, you know."
[Aww...Mama Bear🤌🏻😭]
"My fault?" Veer teased, gently placing his hand over hers on her belly. "Well, I guess I'll have to take responsibility then." He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss on her stomach. "Hey, little one, I hope you're behaving in there. Your mama's getting all these mood swings because of you."
Akshu giggled, feeling a wave of affection wash over her. "Veer, stop talking to the baby like that. You'll spoil the baby before he/she's even born."
He grinned, his eyes full of warmth. "Well, I have to start early, right? And besides, I think you need the pampering too."
Veer stood up suddenly, grabbing a cushion and placing it behind Akshu's back. "Are you comfortable? Do you need water? Snacks? Wait—let me get you your favorite blanket. It's a little chilly today."
Akshu laughed, shaking her head. "I'm fine, really. You're fussing too much."
"Too much?" Veer raised an eyebrow, pretending to be offended. "I'll have you know, Mrs. Akshara Veeranshu Singhaniya, that fussing over you is my favorite thing in the world."
She rolled her eyes, but her heart melted a little at his words. "Okay, okay. You win. But don't go overboard."
Veer winked at her. "No promises."
They both settled back, and as Akshu relaxed, she felt her mood shift again. Her eyes welled up for no reason, and she blinked rapidly. Veer immediately noticed, his playful demeanor fading into concern.
"Hey," he said gently, taking her hand again. "What's wrong?"
Akshu shook her head, wiping her eyes. "I don't know. I just... I'm so lucky to have you, and I don't know why I'm crying."
Veer smiled softly and pulled her into his arms. "It's okay. You don't have to know why. I'll be here through it all, no matter what. Cry, laugh, get mad at me, whatever you need. I've got you, Akshu."
She buried her face in his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. "I love you, Veer."
"I love you too, Akshu," he murmured, pressing another kiss to the top of her head. "And I can't wait to meet our little one."
The two sat together in the quiet of their home, wrapped in each other's warmth, as Veer's gentle presence soothed Akshu's heart, making her feel like everything would be just fine.

Veer glanced up from his laptop when Akshu gently reminded him, "Veer, don't forget, we have to leave for Shyra and Abhi's wedding in Jaipur this evening."
He nodded, humming in response, though his mind was elsewhere. He picked up his phone and made a quick call to their doctor, scheduling an appointment before they left. He couldn't help but feel a mixture of anticipation and nervousness about the upcoming checkup.
