Subaru leaned back in his chair, arms crossed behind his head.

The tension in Class D had begun to dissipate. The situation with Sudou had finally been resolved, but Subaru's mind was already elsewhere. His gaze shifted to the doorway as students filed out for the break. Instead of following the usual flow of conversations, he had other plans.

On his way out, Matsushita called him, narrowing her eyes. "What are you thinking, Subaru?"

He paused, glancing over his shoulder to address her. "Just settling a score, that's all."

He winked before striding confidently toward the exit.

"What does that mean?" Matsushita muttered with a flicker of curiosity.

Ayanokoji, who had been watching quietly, simply tilted his head, almost predicting where Subaru was headed. He couldn't be sure, though, given Subaru's unpredictable behaviour since school began.

Footsteps echoed against the tile floors as Subaru pranced through the doorway with purpose. The students of Class D watched him go, sensing something was amiss due to his unusual silence.

Subaru Natsuki's presence was hard to ignore. He wasn't the behind-the-scenes strategist like Ayanokoji, or the cold rational leader like Horikita. His approaches varied.

By the time he reached Class C, there were already a few curious onlookers.

Class C had always been volatile, their leader, Ryuen Kakeru, infamous for his recent dirty tactics and unrelenting cruelty towards his own classmates. But still, Subaru was undeterred. His grin widened as he pushed open the door to Class C's homeroom.

The noise of the class immediately fell silent. All eyes were on him, except Hiyori's, of course. The dear angel had her eyes stuck on the pages of a mystery novel.

He strolled towards the podium looking like he owned the place. When he was in the spot where the teacher usually stood, he turned to face everyone therein. His gaze swept the room, searching for his target.

"I'm looking for a guy named Ryuen." Subaru's voice cut through the tension like a blade, loud enough for everyone to hear.

The students in Class C exchanged nervous glances, whispering among themselves. Everyone knew who Ryuen was, so asking was pointless. And everyone knew better than to provoke him. So, it's no wonder that Subaru's audacity left a ripple of shock across the room.

After a few suffocating seconds, a slow, mocking chuckle filled the air, and a daftly dressed boy emerged from the back of the classroom. "Kukukukuku."

His usual deadpan smug expression was in place, eyes gleaming as if he just witnessed someone's death. He sauntered forward, flanked by his lackeys, Ishizaki on one side, and Albert on the other.

"Well, well, if it isn't another loudmouth idiot from Class D," Ryuen said, voice dripping with amusement. "You've got guts walking in here."

Subaru locked eyes with him, more out of intrigue than to intimidate him.

"I'm here for the little Sudou incident. You messed with my boy, and I thought about letting things slide, but that wouldn't be any fun, now would it?" His voice was playful, mocking almost, but there was an undercurrent of challenge that no one missed.
