Rishabh's POV

Walking through my office, staff greeted me, and I simply nodded in response. I was in a hurry to meet someone—someone waiting for me in my cabin. Finally, I reached my cabin, where that person sat waiting.

I entered, and upon seeing me, he stood up. “Hello, Mr. Rishabh,” he said, extending his hand toward me.

I shook his hand and took my seat, gesturing for him to do the same. “So, Mr. Mehra, did she agree?” I asked, getting straight to the point.

“Yes,” Mr. Dev replied.

“Tomorrow's engagement is final then?” I maintained my cold tone.

“Yes,” he answered.

“Great!” A familiar voice chimed in.

The door of the cabin opened, and I knew who it was.

My father, Raj Malhotra, walked in and approached Mr. Mehra.

“Dad, tomorrow's date is final for the engagement,” I reiterated in an uninterested tone.

“Oh, congratulations, Mr. Dev! Now our business is turning into family,” my father said, hugging Mr. Dev.

He hugged him back. “More congratulations to you, Mr. Raj.”

“Okay, I should leave; we have a lot of preparations to do,” Mr. Dev said, joining his hands in a gesture of respect.

“If you need any help, don’t hesitate to ask,” my father said.

I sat there in silence.

“No, everything is fine,” Mr. Dev said and left the cabin.

“I’m proud of you, son. You're doing this much for our business,” my father said, taking a seat in front of me.

This is what everyone thinks—I’m marrying her for the business. Pathetic.

“But this is also a big decision in your life. Are you sure about it?” Here we go again.

“Yes, Dad. I've made this very clear,” I replied.

“Marriage isn't business, my son,” my father said, his expression bleak.

“I know, Dad, and I'm doing this of my own will,” I explained.

“That's great! This is what I expect from you,” he said, patting my shoulder before leaving.

I see this as a business arrangement, but this marriage is more than that. I want to protect her.

Protect her from all the demons, mainly her family, from whom she has already suffered enough.

Now it’s her time to live freely. I know this marriage is just a forced arrangement for her, against her will.
