Taehyung's birthday came and the newly 19 year old was not looking happy.
It's been five days without Taejun around the dorms. No cute babyish laughter or giggles, no bunny looking smiles, no one to sing to at night or read bed time stories to.
Though, the boys went back to their hometown for Christmas and had returned last night for Taehyung's birthday, the dorms felt very empty without Taejun.
Jimin helped Taehyung set up the camera for his birthday Vlive to the fans. The company received birthday presents and cards for Taehyung, so, it was normal to go live and thank the fans.
Everyone laid back on the couch looking very down. It didn't even look like someone was celebrating a birthday.
"Okay, Tae. It's set. Just smile okay? Jun won't like the frown on your pretty face" Jimin told his best friend softly.
"You're frowning too Chim. Besides, Jun's not here. I can't be happy knowing she's miles away from us" Taehyung said sadly. The others sighed.
"I feel the same way. But, smile, for ARMY at least" Jimin consoled him even though he also felt very sad.
His soulmate being sad and Taejun being absent was really saddening. Taehyung nodded and took Taejun's bunny plushie that she carried around. He held it to himself to represent Taejun being there.
The others came and stood behind him and Jimin turned on the camera. On cue, The boys started singing a happy birthday song to him.
Usually, he would be all shy from the love and even his favorite strawberry cake that was now seated on the table, but he wasn't and just faked a small smile. It wasn't just him, but, even the boys had to fake their smiles in order not to think about their absent fluff ball.
"Okay V hyung, make a wish and blow out the candles" Jungkook told him.
The live was already going well. The comments sections was flooded with birthday wishes for the birthday boy but he still wasn't feeling the birthday spirit.
Taehyung nodded absentmindedly, he closed his eyes and the first thing he thought about...
"I wish Jun would be here with me"
At that moment, Taehyung could swear that he heard something like a magical tinkling sound or it probably was just his imagination. He blew out the candles and the boys clapped with smiles this time, in genuine excitement.
Taehyung then proceeded to thank the fans for their wishes and gifts, as he was very grateful over them. The boys were immersed with the live and didn't notice someone had entered the room in an all black outfit.
Taehyung was still speaking when someone in the comments asked where Taejun was. Taehyung stumbled on his words after seeing the comments.
"Junnie isn't here now. She's away on a trip and would...probably be back next year for new year" Namjoon felt his throat run dry from what he just said.
The boys almost felt a dark cloud looming over their heads. Their fake smiles had faded and it seemed most of fans noticed they weren't happy.
"Don't worry everyone. I'm happy, just a little sad that Jun isn't here" Taehyung smiled a little.
Suddenly, Jungkook pushed his head forward as he read a comment out loud.
"That's Junnie!" Taehyung's eyes lit up.
"What did she say?" Jin asked him.
"Happy birthday Taehyungie hyung! Saranada!"
Taehyung had tears in his eyes when he saw that. He was the second person after Yoongi that Taejun had said 'I love you' to.
