[Masaru Sugiyama's Point Of View. (POV)]

"Huh,  Sec 1 Class 1A eh?" Masaru mumbled to himself after receiving the assignment of his classes which was posted on the school website, via his phone.

Tomorrow was Masaru's first day studying at AoiKiiro Secondary School. Initially, he wanted to enter a high ranking secondary school but his points for getting into the school he wanted was not enough, thus he was assigned to a School that was nearby. For a 13 year old, Masaru was quite tall, he had blackish-brown wavy hair and loved going on walks.

"Secondary school huh? I hope it's interesting," Masaru said as he fell back on his bed looking at the ceiling, questioning life in Secondary School. Masaru slowly started to close his eyes and drift off into sleep, dreaming about his first day in school.

The next day Masaru went to his new school, found his class 1A, which was at the ground floor, sat at his desk nearest to the window and looked around his classroom. The atmosphere was much livelier and more energetic compared to primary school. Masaru was very quiet since primary school, he would often sit alone and do his own things. He was quite the introvert so he did not really fit in with the atmosphere. He gave a sigh and put his head on the table, using his arms as a cushion between the table and his head. After awhile he started to doze off.

A few minutes passed and the bell rang. He was woken up by the sudden noise of the bell and immediately looked up. The class was filled with students sitting at their tables most with groggy faces and clothes that are not ironed. He noticed a teacher standing in front of the class who was taking attendance.

"My Name is Ms Kataro, I'll be your homeroom teacher for this year and next year," The teacher informed the class with a small smile. She then picked up the name list from the table.

"Masaru Sugiyama?" Ms Kataro said as she looked at the name list.

Masaru raised his hand and put it back down. Ms Kataro then ticked his name on the clipboard. After a while, He then started looking around in class, trying to search for familiar faces but there was no one that he knew.

"Really? no one from my primary school is here?" Masaru sighed as he felt lonely.

While searching for a familiar face, he saw a girl. Masaru's heart rate increased slightly as he looked at the girl. The girl was sitting at the back of class nearest to the backdoor of the classroom. After the sight, Masaru immediately looked away, looking at the floor beneath his desk.

"W-who's that girl?" Masaru thought to himself looking down at the floor beneath his desk.

He glanced at the girl again but this time, the girl noticed his glance and immediately looked at the teacher trying not to make eye contact with Masaru. Masaru quickly looked away and started to look outside the window, slightly awkward and nervous as he knew that the girl saw him.

"RINGG"  The bell rang and it was recess time.

"Alright, Tomorrow is orientation camp so you guys don't need to bring any study materials alright?" Ms Kataro informed as she walked out of the walked out of the classroom making her way to the faculty office.

It was recess that period. Masaru quickly took his belongings and rushed out of the class with a stiff body. Sweat dripped down his forehead as his heart rate increased slightly. The girl in the back saw his reaction and that piqued her curiosity.

Masaru could not stop thinking about that time the girl noticed his glance. He was really embarrassed and could not stop fidgeting while he was munching his food in the canteen. At that moment, he noticed the girl walking to queue up at a drinks stall. Masaru paused and observed her actions. The girl bought a packet of Grape Juice sat down at an empty table, enjoying her drink while scrolling on her phone. Masaru was curious about the girl but he was too shy to walk up to her in person. Masaru was scared he'd get judged by the people in the canteen for talking to a girl.  He was anxious people would start associating Masaru and the girl as if they were in a relationship. Masaru liked to overthink. He had thought of ways how he'd get awkward talking to the girl.
