A few weeks later...

There was now only a month left until the start of the academic year, which made Samantha more nervous than ever, and understandably so: she was going to study at a bourgeois university, rub shoulders with rich people, put up with rich kids who can- being will be much worse than the Mondadori brothers...

Sometimes, she wondered if she would be up to the task, but she always pulled herself together by giving herself courage and telling herself that she was never going to give up; Nonna Alberta had spent a lot of money so she could study in good conditions, so there was no way Samantha would disappoint this big-hearted woman.

Today, very early in the morning, Alberta took Samantha to the mall to buy her everything she would need for college.
Of course, the young woman did not agree and even refused at first, but the old lady knew how to be very persuasive...

-Look at this leather jacket, it will suit you perfectly! Said Alberta, showing her the jacket in question.

-Yes but...

-And these shoes! Interrupted the old lady. I'm sure every girl dream of it.

-Nonna! Samantha stopped her. Thank you for everything you do for me, but this is too much! We have already bought a lot of things. She finished, referring to the many bags she was holding.

-Please don't be mad at me, I just want to give you everything you didn't have in your childhood. The old lady explained with a sad expression.

-I know and I thank you again, said the young woman. But let's not exaggerate, I'm not used to this much luxury.

-You will have to get used to it now my daughter, you are going to enter the big leagues. Alberta said seriously.

-Look, it bothers me! I won't be able to return all the money you spent on me. She said, lowering her head.

-You don't have to give me anything back at all, my daughter. Alberta assured, lifting the young woman's head by her index finger. I promised your grandmother to treat you as if you were my granddaughter, she continued. And believe me, if I had a granddaughter, I would have treated her the same way. She finished, smiling.

-She would have been very lucky! Samantha added, returning her smile.

-Okay, we're going to buy one last thing, then we're going to go back to the manor. Alberta declared.

-Oh no...

-Please Samantha! Please! Alberta begged; she knew Samantha wasn't going to refuse her anything.

-Okay, but only one thing! Warned the young woman, making the number "one" with her index finger.

-Yes, let's go! Exclaimed Alberta, more determined than ever to spoil the young woman.
