School Project

...

The teacher continued explaining things that seemed overly easy to the two shrunken geniuses but they couldn't do anything about it and only endure boredom.

They would sometimes make eye contact, and only through eyes have the shortest of conversations:

"Dying from boredom."

"Same but I'm glad you too."

...

For Conan, school was a waste of time but he couldn't help it since it was a cover after all.

When Haibara came into his life it had been less boring ever since school was something he kind of looked forward to because of Haibara but that was one of the rare things he wasn't ready to admit.

After a few eye contacts and a few glances at his best friend the teacher clapped hands and continued stating they were going to have a school project, one about forbidden love.

In the sense of terrible circumstances ruining couples, for example, Romeo and Juliet, of course.

(Not the dark incestuous illegal ones.)

He nodded at Haibara, it was gonna be another piece of cake. Until the teacher stated they had to write their own stories inspired by Romeo and Juliet or something similar.

Well, those were one of the rare times were Conan wished he was his dad.

...

Both Haibara and Conan were at the Agasa's residence, and sheets of paper empty and intact were in front of them. They didn't have any ideas for a story.

"It doesn't surprise me you haven't found any ideas."

Said Ai, scribbling something on the paper.

"Oh really?"

Answered Conan, readying himself for a witty remark of hers.

"Yeah, you're bad at romance I don't think you'd be capable of writing one."

Haibara remarked.

"Tsk."

Simply replied Edogawa, then added:

"You and your wits. Wy don't you give us a great idea instead?"

The girl closed her eyes and began to think:

"Why don't we write a story about a scientist and a detective falling in love after some perilous adventures?"

Silence crept into the room, and then Conan answered still processing what she said:

"What."

Haibara regained her usual attitude and answered the stunned Conan:

"Ha. Just kidding."

After a few seconds and a sarcastic chuckle from Edogawa, he simply blurted:

"Why not?"

We'll never know if he was talking about the school project or something else.
