2011, december 24th.

it had been four years since satoru had first seen the house. now, he knew it like the back of his palm.

nanako and mimiko were fast asleep in their rooms, it was a late night. satoru and suguru had just got back from a recruitment, currently slumped against each other on satoru's bed.

they'd gone back to jujutsu high for the first time in four years. apparently, mei mei had taken over the role satoru had once filled. she now was teaching now, getting stronger every day it seemed.

shoko, on the other hand, had taken in a little kid named megumi with her girlfriend, utahime. they were also both teachers, mostly serving in the medical unit with shokos rct.

they seemed well, but of course, shokos first reaction was so give the both of them a harsh slap on the face. couldn't say they didn't deserve it though.

"four years!" she yelled scoldingly. "not a single word? really, you just left one day? do you know how worried i've been?"

she hadn't thought they were dead, no, everyone knew their names. how they "turned out." the rumor of suguru geto forcing the great satoru gojo to come and fulfill his horrible plans, i mean, really?

"it's better like this," suguru had explained. "really, just think shoko. a world without curses? could you imagine it?"

satoru obediently had stayed quiet at his side, rolling back and forth from his heels to his toes. this was the standard lecture he had. sometimes, he would help, but he didn't feel like it.

"good to see you too, geto," shoko rolled her eyes, punching his chest with little pressure. "dick."

suguru smiled, and satoru couldn't help but glance over as he did. "thank you. i could say the same to you."

"and you," shoko jabbed a finger to satoru's chest. "you. you left? we've been falling apart, what do you think-"

"shoko," satoru grinned. "im much happier now, thanks."

his tone was dismissive and held barely any room to argue, maybe a hint of aggression in it. she just sighed, letting her hand fall back to her sides.

"gojo? geto?" another voice said behind them.

satoru groaned, throwing his head back. great. it was utahime.

"what the hell are you two doing here?"

she looked different, she had a large scar running from her cheek to the bride of her nose, and she looked... annoyed. no, nothing different actually. still had a stick up her ass.

"hello, utahime," satoru mumbled, and he could feel suguru's glare on him when he looked away stubbornly. be nice, it said.

"we come in peace," he grinned. "and... a new outlook of a better world-"

"alright, alright, that's enough geto," shoko interrupted, holding her hand out to stop him. "we don't need to hear anymore of this great world you have in plan. we're fine here."

suguru fell silent, and even though satoru couldn't see through the dark blindfold, he could feel the atmosphere grow thicker. he stood up a little straighter, and he could feel when he did, how tense everyone went.

"ah, the traitor," mei mei spoke up finally, emerging from her spot where she leaned against the tree. her eyes fell on satoru. "and... his dog."
