To explain, between chapters will be Empty Barrel Chapters, which provide first person storytelling on the specified character's life, leading up to their participation, and how they came to be here. These chapters will be short like the regular ones, but unlike the regular ones, these provide the lore to various deceased characters. These chapters are optional to those who only wish to read the story, but for you lore hunters out there, these are for you.

"Dinner's ready!" Mom called, causing me to excitedly put down my phone and rush into the kitchen with a smile. Dad was waiting for me, and gave me a hug and smile, having heard the news. I had been accepted into University, and we were throwing a celebration with the rest of the family.

"We know how hard you've worked to get here," Dad said to me, a hand on my back as he looked at me with pride in his eyes. "We're very proud of you, Simon! So, let's enjoy the night!" I smiled and nodded, as Mom handed me my plate, and we all sat down at the table, saying grace, before eating. It was... nice. However, I got a notification on my phone, causing me to look at it in confusion. I looked at my family, and they seemed confused.

"I have to go take care of something. I'll be right back, guys," I said to them. Grandma was about to speak up, but Dad shook his head, before giving me the go ahead to leave.

I went to my room and looked at the notification, reading it, before calling the number on the message. I spoke into my phone once someone picked up, my eyes slightly narrowed.

"Who is this? Why did someone send me this number?" I asked sternly, wanting answers. The voice on the other end was a high pitched girl one, who laughed, before giving me the rundown.

"Oh calm down! I've just wanted you to call to tell you that you've been invited! Invited to a special game to celebrate your acceptance into y- err- our University!" the mysterious female voice said in an upbeat, squeaky voice. It made my head hurt, but they were from my University, so I calmed down.

I was about to respond, when I felt something sharp hit me in the neck. A drug needle. I fell to the floor, and the girl on the other end, sounding no older than 8, giggled. "Don't try to fight it, Simon~! It'll all be over in the coming days..."

...

I blacked out.
