"Ryomen, give me my crayon back!" I yelled out. Obviously annoyed with a pink haired kid who had stolen my crayon.

"Nuh-uh. Loser, you should keep an eye on what's yours." Ryomen stuck out his tongue at me and used my crayon, ignoring my existence. Surely enough, a teacher came by and gave me another blue crayon and  forgot about him and my crayon.

We had to sit on the carpet to watch a video, and I sat by myself before Ryomen sat next to me. I eyed him, keeping my back straight and then paying attention to the screen. It was a video of the numbers, alphabet, and colors, but during it, I let my eyes close for a little bit.

Who doesn't want to sleep when the lights are turned off and watching a boring video? I fell asleep on the shoulder of Ryomen.

Ryomen stiffened and straightened himself as a stick right when he felt Y/n on his shoulder.

They had met 6 months prior and way before the first day of kindergarten. Their mothers had met and became friends somehow, very coincidental. But it was through this connection that our families became enemies and strangers soon after.

Ryomen let her sleep on his shoulder. He was only 5 years old, he didn't know he was starting to like the girl. He didn't mind the pressure from his shoulder that was starting to bother him. He simply put his focus in front of him until the video ended, and the teachers woke me up afterward.

I slowly lifted my head and realized who I had slept on. I blushed from the embarrassment and said a quiet sorry before taking my seat.

Ryomen nodded in acknowledgment and got up to sit in his seat, too. We traced the letters on the paper and ignored Ryomen before he handed me back my blue crayon and went back to tracing his letters, acting as if nothing happened.

I smiled and placed the crayon next to the green one to complete the rainbow. "Thank you!" I noticed how calm he was when he was focused. He looked at me and gave a thumbs up, making me giggle. We didn't talk a lot, ryomen was a quiet kid, but so was I, except during recess. It was a completely different scenario.

"Put your muscles into it, Ryo!" I yelled as Sukuna pushed me on the swing. Quickly, he followed my order, and once I seemed satisfied, he sat down on his swing.

All of a sudden, while laughing and swinging side by side with Ryomen, I was at home, adults screaming, Ryomen covering my ears, tears streaming down my face as we both sat in the darkness of my room.

It began when me and Ryomen and our moms would walk back to our homes, we practically lived next to each other, so they walked while we both felt like the only ones in the world. Talking about insects on the floor, picking rollie pollies from the ground and showing off to each other who could collect more but being interrupted by 2 men in black who confronted Ryomen's mom about his Dad who was in contact with gangs before she took Ryomen and the men into their home.

My mom looked nervous and pale as a ghost. Almost out of it, and I asked her what was going on as I waved off to Ryomen. She didn't respond, and we continued to walk on the usual way to our home before she told me that we needed to be careful. Extremely careful.

Mom warned me not to tell anything to Dad, so when it was dinner time, I told him how I collected rollie pollies and learned the aplahbet and numbers. There was 0 mention of Ryomen, even though Dad knew about him and his family. But nothing really about the involvement with gangs or maybe even the mafia.

Then it turned into robbing and thief's coming into their home and drive-by shootings. Ryomen had eye bags under his eyes and slept in class and became very irrated with any small thing.

They tried robbing them and almost killing all 3 of them when they turned their heads toward our direction. We had people breaking our windows as threats, and it had come down to Ryomen's parents coming to discuss with my parents and Ryomen, who took me to my room. He knew what was coming. It had happened numerous times, and it had finally ended one afternoon.

I had only come across Ryomen's Dad once during our walks back home. He drove by and picked up Ryomen's mom and Ryo. Ryomen had given me a small, almost unnoticeable smile at me and waved. I have never seen him after that. I guessed he moved, and my mom told me not to worry much about it and we would see them one way or another.

But I would see him in my dreams, at different moments, I would see him and wave, but he would vanish and then I would look for him and he would be on the ground, being kicked, spat at and hit with bats. I would rush but get hit or pushed abruptly, suddenly waking me up in the early morning hours.

The first encounter with Sukuna was in elementary school when he ignored me and told me to watch my way, instantly making me notice his complete change in demeanor and entirely his whole self. It was only problems with him, I realized that day he had come back and transferred but backed off, no intent to become his friend like the old days.

I had stayed in the same location throughout elementary, middle, and high school. Sukuna came back 2 years after our last walk during 2nd grade. Before all that, we did become friends, even though we talked during recess and our walks. We still had a strong connection. But it switched in an instant, and our connection became nothing but dust.

If I was more mature or more conscious of what was happening, I would've definitely backed him up and helped, but you can't change the old days..only push past the regrets.

AN- enjoy this chapter, hopefully not bad for ygs. Stay blessed!
