PROLOGUE:-
" Who do you belong to?"
He asked, pressing his lips deeper against her neck, inhaling her scent. She parted her mouth slightly, finding herself weak on knees by the tingling sensations he was giving her.
She hissed in pain as he bit her flesh before repeating his question.
" Who do you belong to, baby?"
Her heart was pumping inside her chest. Her inner self reminded her not to say something offending but she chose otherwise.
" Nobody."
He moved his face back and she caught the sight of a sly smirk on his lips.
" Wrong answer."
He leaned his face close to her and she felt his breath hitting against her lips.
" Today either you will give the right answer or you will lose your self respect. Both the options will defeat you," he said.
She frowned her eyebrows and tried to free her hands which were locked behind her back by him. In a swift moment, he pushed her back on the bed.
She blinked, staring at him removing his tie while saying.
" You are naive, princess. I have told this to you many times."
She crawled back nervously, " w..what do you mean?"
He raised his eyebrows a little and said, " you should not have drunk that water, little one."
He walked to the couch and sat on it, spreading his legs wide. He unbuttoned a few of his shirt buttons and held the glass of wine from the table.
Pakhi took some time to come to the conclusion that something was mixed in it.
" What did you put in that?"
She asked with a horrified look on face.
He took a sip of the drink, " not me but someone surely made my work easy."
She gulped.
...
" Marry me."
He uttered, keeping his words straight and simple which was not at all simple for her. At this situation, it would be such a cowardly way to use her.
" What did you say?"
She asked, wanting him to repeat his words. Maybe she did not hear him correctly.
His hands were tucked inside his pocket as he took steps toward her. Her back rested on the wall behind. She was cautious of not decreasing distance with him.
" Marry me for 6 months. Be my wife."
She raised her eyebrows and chuckled as if he cracked a joke while his serious face depicted otherwise.
" Why would I?"
A smirk caressed on his lips and he uttered, " you know it, baby. I don't think that the great Shruti Chauhan can bear the downfall of her favorite student and, no daughter would like her father to go through a painful journey of humiliation. Can't forget your good gracious best friend. The poor just got the job."
She clenched her jaw, knowing he has power to do whatever he said just now neither he would step back.
" Why do you want to marry me when I did nothing-"
" Correction, darling."
He interrupted her in the middle and ended the little distance between them. He took out his hands from pocket and rested on the wall beside her head.
" Have pay back to your brother. I didn't even give him the wedding present. Tit for tat."
She was right. He is just using her to maintain enmity with her brother. But, it was wrong. Her family will get angry. Her brother hates him to the core of his heart.
" This is wrong," she uttered in low voice this time.
" Umhn, everything is fair in love and war."
She fluttered her eyelashes down and felt herself stuck. She failed to come into conclusion and decide one thing. She can't underestimate him otherwise he won't take a second ruining her father's hard work, her best friend's life and the life of student who is aspiring to become something big.
3 lives were dependent on her. If she chose them, she'll have to ruin her life.
And, she decided to throw herself in the trouble.
" Okay."
" That's like a good girl."
He commented, developing the emotion of hatred in her for him.
