As the evening slowly turned to navy blue night, Logan's house could still bask in the rays of the amber rays before the cool night covered the night sky. Logan fondled his brown hair as he listened to Lauren's story.
"We Terrans have been fighting a cataclysmic event known as the calamity for more than 100 years. In order for us to fight against it, four great mages forged four rings that possessed power in similarity to that of the storm. They each possessed a powerful trait from the foundation of magic itself which made a power balance among the holders themselves. It is destined that only two rings are superior to the others, the one I hold in my palm is the Ring of Luminosity. It posseses the power to create any weapon from my imagination but it depends on how big your imagination and mana you have. The other ring is known as the Ring of Shades. It's almost completely opposite to the Ring of Luminosity. I have no idea how it works but what I do know is that it's power is based on individualism. My Mother, the queen of Terra, was the previous holder of the Ring of Luminosity." She said gritting her teeth as she clenched her fists. Logan glanced at her and it finally hit him. " When she received that letter, the Embiot........ He killed my father the king during a battle in the front lines." She said with a shakey breath. Logan finally understood what had been bothering her. She'd been holding all this pain inside her and it had been eating through her.
"Am so sorry that happened to your family. You don't have to tell me anymore than you need to." He said with sympathy. She slightly swayed her head sideways and said.
"No I have to tell you. It may seem meaningless but at least it'll ease my pain. Not more than 2 months passed and that Embiot attacked our castle with his forces." She said with a shakey breath. "My mother entrusted me with the future of Terra with this ring and she....she..........." Tears slowly flowed from her shut eye lids as she held the Ring close to her chest. She felt a warmth on her right shoulder and turned to look to Logan. His face actually said it all. She said enough of what was in her heart. She wiped her tears and laid her right hand on the cut on her left shoulder still oozing blood.
"Fuck!!? Forgot you had been injured. Let me grab the first aid kit from the closet." He said dashing to the closet across the room from the couch. He grabbed a white box and placed it on the coffee table in the center of the room and grabbed iodine, hydrogen peroxide and some bandages. "Now this is gonna hurt, alot. Do you wanna go for it?" He said holding a cotton ball dipped in iodine. She nodded and braced herself as he tapped the cotton ball to her shoulder. She hissed in agony as he rubbed the ball around the wound. Then he got a fresh ball with hydrogen peroxide and the pain was worse. She screamed a bit but held her mouth shut as he rubbed her and poured a little over her wound before stitching it up and tying a bandage. Lauren looked down while he was tying the bandage around her arm.
"Your really good at this. Were you a nurse once?" She asked.
"It's funny coming from you to know about nurses but no I just know how to deal with stuff like this." He replied
"There all done. How does your
shoulder feel?" He asked her as he stood up. She turned her arm up and touched the bandage slightly."I can still feel some pain but it's not bleeding and not that agonizing anymore. Thank you." She said smiling. Logan just chuckled and smiled back
"Your welcome. By the way I didn't ask you your name."
"Since you've helped me and heard me out, I guess it's worth telling to you. I am Lauren Velheim, princess of Terra." She said putting back the ring in her finger.
"Your really adept at telling me your title huh. Well am Logan." He said smiling until the front door clicked open and a woman walked in.
"Logan are you home? Cause apparently there's............" She said before looking at him then Lauren who just casually sat there looking at her.
"LOGAN!!? What the hell, your picking up girls now huh?" She asked standing there angrily."You know who I am right? And also she had nowhere else to go so I invited her over." He replied.
"Sorry for this but it's true that Logan did save my life. I owe him." She said
The lady just stood there puzzled and looked at Logan once more.
"Did you drug this chic or what?!!" There was skeptism behind what she said."For once believe me or rather why don't you believe her instead?" He begged.
"Your off the hook for now. Sorry for that, am Logan's sister, Sandra, nice to see your still in one piece." She said raising her hand.
"Nice to meet you, Sandra. My name's Laura." She said reaching Sandra's hand.
Sandra slightly smirked and pulled Laura towards her in an embrace.
She was slightly shocked being hugged."Your soft, tender and have no restrictions on your body. I like you already." Sandra said gently.
"Huh!?!?!" She asked puzzled.
Sandra gently released her and continued to the kitchen. Logan finally spoke up.
"Don't mind her. It's how she acts c'mon I'll show you upstairs." He gestured to the stairs behind her.
They both walked up the stairs to the small hallway with four doors two on each side. Logan continued walking to the second door on the right then led her to a small room. There was bed on the left with small desk setup Infront of a window and a bookshelf hanging on the wall to the right with a small wardrobe draped in deep blue. Logan gently walked in and gestured Laura inside. She gently walked and stared around the room.
"This is my room. Don't worry, my sister normally doesn't like poking into my things so she won't disturb us." He said sitting on his bed.
"So let's continue where we left off." He said gesturing her to the chair on the desk."Back in Terra in the dark forest countless forces of the Dark Embiot gathered around. One soldier ran towards the general outpost and stood before 3 soldiers discussing war plans on a table
"The magus is on his way as requested, General Vakrim." The soldier said. One of the soldiers from the table lifted his head and picked his helmet.
"Time to venture back to the barren lands of our mother world, Earth." He said putting on his helmet.
