Adira's POV

"No... please, don't come closer!"I begged, my voice shaking as he stepped toward me, his eyes cold and a knife glinting in his hand.

"Your father was supposed to be dead by now," he said, crouching down in front of me. His face was too close, the knife resting under my chin, sending chills through me. "He should've listened, but he didn't. And now... here you are."

My hands were tied behind my back, and I was struggling to breathe. Fear gripped me so tightly that I could hardly speak. "I don't know what you're talking about," I said, almost in a whisper, my voice trembling.

His expression changed. Anger flared in his eyes. "You don't know? You really don't know?!"he shouted, making me flinch, my body trembling with fear.

"No, I don't!" I sobbed, tears rolling down my face.

Suddenly, the sound of gunfire ripped through the air. The man jumped up, turning toward the door. My heart raced, and I was too scared and confused to understand what was going on.

"Go, take cover! We're not letting these Rajputs get out alive!" he shouted at someone.

Before I could grasp what was happening, everything turned into a blur. Then, out of nowhere, a bullet hit him, and he fell to the ground. Blood splattered everywhere, staining the floor.

"No!" I screamed, my voice filled with terror.

And then, everything went black.

I woke up with a jolt, my chest heaving as I tried to catch my breath. My forehead was drenched in sweat. "That same dream... again,"I whispered, looking around my room, trying to calm myself down.

I glanced at the clock-5:30 AM. I sighed, knowing I wouldn't be able to fall back asleep. I pushed the blanket off and got up, heading to the bathroom. As I brushed my teeth, I stared at myself in the mirror, my mind still clouded with the nightmare.

"How many more times am I going to have this dream?" I thought to myself. "Why did this have to happen to me?"

After brushing my teeth and getting ready, I slipped into my workout clothes and stepped outside into the garden. The fresh morning air greeted me, cool against my skin, and I took a deep breath, trying to push away the lingering fear from the nightmare. I began jogging, my feet finding a steady rhythm on the familiar path. The repetitive movement helped to clear my mind, focusing my thoughts on something other than the dark memories that haunted my sleep.

Once the jog was over, I transitioned to yoga, my body flowing through the stretches. I inhaled deeply, holding the poses, concentrating on my breathing, searching for a sense of calm. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake the heaviness in my chest. I knew the peace was only temporary, like a pause in the storm. Deep down, I could feel it-those nightmares would return. They always did.

After yoga, I headed inside for a long, cold bath. The cold water dripped down my body as I stood under the showerhead, eyes closed. For a moment, the chill helped numb everything, but then-like always-the images came rushing back.
