Back in the present, the café felt smaller, like the weight of their shared past had shrunk the world around them. San leaned forward, his voice barely a murmur. "I've missed you, Y/N. I've missed this."

Y/N swallowed hard, their throat tightening. "I missed you too, San. More than you know."

San's eyes darkened, emotions flickering beneath the surface. "I tried to move on, you know? To focus on my career, my future... But every city I went to, every stage I stood on, I thought about you. About us. About what we never had the chance to say."

Y/N could feel the weight of those unsaid words between them, as if they had been frozen in time, waiting for this exact moment. "We were so young," Y/N whispered. "We didn't know how to hold onto something like that."

"Do we know how to now?" San asked, his voice trembling slightly, betraying the confidence he usually exuded.

Y/N didn't have an answer. They had lived in the absence of him for so long that they didn't know what their life would look like with him back in it.
