Next day, she opened her eyes before sun rise, her mind racing.
The engagement loomed, a constant reminder.
She took the shower and went to school.
There she met Ayesha.
"Noor tum thik ho?" Ayesha asked, noticing her distress.
(Noor, are you fine?)Noor broke down, "Ayesha, mera nikah fix ho gya!"
(Ayesha, my marriage is fixed.)Ayesha's eyes widened, "kya? Kab?"
(What? When?)Noor sniffed, "July 12th. Aur Arsal ke sath."
(With Arsal)Ayesha replied, "vo ladka Jo Hume tumhari ammi ke birthday le Mila tha, usse?"
(That guy, we met on your mother's birthday?)Noor replied "han Ayesha", with tears in her eyes.
(Yes Ayesha.)Ayesha hugged Noor tightly.
"Noor, tum khush nahi ho?)
(Noor, you're not happy?)Noor shook her head.
"maine mna Kiya tha, lekin abbu nahi mane."
(I refused, but my father didn't listen.)Ayesha's expression turned determined.
"Noor ab kya krogi tum? Apne sapne kaise pure krogi?"
(Noor, what will you do now? How will you achieve your dreams?)"Arsal se nikah karungi aur sapno ko bhul jaungi."
(I will marry Arsal and will not achieve my dreams.)Noor's eyes welled up.
Ayesha said, "tum ghar se bhag jao"
(Just run from your home.)"nahi Ayesha", Noor answered.
(No Ayesha)"phir tumhe nikah hi karna hoga"said Ayesha.
(Then, you have to marry him.)Noor nodded.
After school she went home.
