ONE YEAR LATER
THE SOUND OF someone screaming in annoyance was of course killian, he kept losing at uno. El was looking at his deck with a tilted head, meanwhile mike was grinning smugly as he glimpsed at killian who was clearly upset.
"And nobody wants to know you now." You started singing along, catching el off guard when you grabbed his wrists. "Nobody wants to show you--"
"[Y/n]!" El exclaims, now going to cover your mouth as you kept singing. "[Y/n], stop! stop!"
"So if you're lost and on your own." You continue to sing. "You can never surrender—"
"Stop!" El says, laughing.
Your voice cracked before you could finish singing, you look at el with a fake pout. "What? you don't like it?" you asked.
"I think it was fine." Mike adds with a shrug, killian side eyes mike before hitting him in his side. "Ow!"
"It was amazing." Killian says while rolling his eyes towards mike playfully, "also-- we're like, gonna be late to head to the mall. so we shall hurry and go."
"Oh!" El says before he gave a small smile. "Wish I could go with you guys..but hopper says it's too dangerous."
"Maybe one day we could sneak you out." Killian smirks. "And hopper won't even know."
El sighs. "I wish--" he then rolls his eyes, thinking about how hopper would react while scoffing. "--but then he will say 'no, el you could've been seen, too dangerous'!" el mimicked hopper.
Killian laughs. you've noticed how taller you, el, mike, and killian have gotten— yeah some girls would often get jealous but you weren't that tall.
Killian then checks the time. "Alright we gotta go. see you tomorrow el." he says before putting on his air Jordan's.
Mike also puts on his shoes before giving el a hug, "see you tomorrow."
"Bye." El gives another small smile as you kissed him on the cheek. Once the three of you make it out the door, el watches as you guys leave— a sigh escaping him again.

You, mike, and killian made your way to the mall— Lucas, will, and max stood there waiting. "You're all late." Lucas says to the three of you, "Again."
"We're sorry." Killian says.
"We're gonna miss the opening." Will added.
"Yeah, if you guys keep whining about it. Let's go!" Mike says.
"If you guys keep whining about it. nyeh-nyeh-nyeh." Lucas mocks.
"Just please stop talking, dude." Mike says as he held your hand, killian had his arm wrapped around your shoulder.
"Let me guess." Lucas spoke. "You were busy--" he smacks his lips together to make a kissing noise.
"Oh, yeah, real mature, lucas." Mike says as he pulls you closer to him.
"Oh, [y/n], I wish we could make out forever, and never hang out with any of our friends." Lucas continues mocking.
"Lucas, stop." Max tells him.
"Will thinks it's funny." Lucas replies.
"Because it is." Will adds.
"Wowww, I see how it is." Killian says jokingly. "Yeah, okay-- it's so funny that we want to spend a romantic time with our girlfriend."
"I'm spending a romantic time with my girlfriend." Lucas says while wrapping his arm around max's shoulder.
As the five of you made it into scoop's ahoy, you see robin. Mike starts ringing the bell repeatedly, causing robin to deadpan.
"Hey, dingus, your children are here." Robin says with a hint of annoyance and sarcasm in her tone.
Steve opens the window to the back room of the shop, "again? seriously?" he says with annoyance.
This time killian rings the bell, shrugging.

After sneaking into the theater, you take your seat in between mike and killian, a sigh escaping you as a headache started to form— this only happened when your visions would start.
"See, Lucas? We made it." Mike whispers to lucas.
"We missed the previews." Lucas whispers back in reply.
"Still made it. fart face." Max says to lucas jokingly.
The movie starts and you watch, killian holds your hand. he was not a big fan of horror movies at all— but he didn't mind watching this one.
Then it cuts off, the entire crowd clamors, a shiver runs down your spine as a weird vision comes to you— a swirl of black mist, you see it, and it's like..it sees you, too.
Then the movie cuts back on, you clutched your shirt as you lowered your head.
"Hey." You hear someone whisper, causing you to turn to them— a sigh of relief escapes you when you see its mike.
"You okay?" Mike asks with concern, noticing you seemed nervous.
You see killian also looking at you with concern, "I'm-- I'm fine." you lie before turning your attention back to the movie.
"Are you sure?" Killian asks.
"Of course, yeah I'm sure." You answer, hand shaking a little but you stopped it eventually.
Mike and killian seemed unsure but they didn't press further. "Okay."
Mike says before giving you a gentle kiss on the cheek, turning his attention back to the screen.
