Cycles have passed since Y/n had came online, their form had taken some changes greatly. Not too different, but they were taller than most of the miners here, a good two feet at least. No one really knew why, and labeled it as some sort of defect of some kind. Though the miners didn't mind, seeing as it helped in the long run when reaching taller areas or with pushing carts.

"Y/n, can you help me with this last load before we head to the subzero station??!" Jazz called out to the f/c and s/c/c bot, who had just got done hauling their tools to the loading train. They felt their joints ache at the thought of doing extra labor, but agreed.

"Yeah give me a second!" Y/n called back out to jazz, swiftly running over to where he struggled to push the cart of overfilled drilling equipment from the amount exhaustion he bared on his shoulders. Although Y/n was twice as exhausted, they weren't gonna leave Jazz behind while everyone else left.

"This your last load?" Y/n asked as they reached Jazz's side, and he shook his head yes.

"I have another load of drilling equipment over there." Jazz responded and Y/n nodded along, "I promise I'll give you half my energon stash if you help me with this cart."

"No. You need all the energon you can get Jazz. I'll be ok. Why don't you get the other equipment, I'll take care of this load for you." Y/n began pushing the cart with ease, eager to get it done, it helped a lot when you can actually see where you're going.

"Thanks Y/n! You're the best! I promise to make it up to you over a drink one day!!" Jazz grinned before running off to gather the other drilling equipment.

"Just doing my job." Y/n sighed with a hint of boredom in their tone, dragging the cart up through the grueling ground. Did they really want to be doing this? No. Not one bit. But it seemed that they never really had a choice in the matter due to Sentinel's command and authority.

Y/n personally didn't get the hype with him. Everyone seemed to worship him like a god, while they remained indifferent. Sure they're grateful for his sacrifices with going to the surface in search for the Matrix. But his overconfident and cocky attitude just rubbed them off in a wrong way. Not to mention he's working miners practically to death.

Y/n continued to push the cart if equipment towards the where the elevators were stationed, pulling it up inside and stretching out their gears. Waking up early in the morning just for only half of labor to be done, the rest was done in the mines. Once the elevator doors opened up, there Y/n saw the rest of their fellow miners leaving towards subzero. Although they ached for more rest.

"Y/n, over here!" D-16's voice caught Y/n off guard. They swiveled their head around to see him also pushing some of the equipment they used while going through mining procedures.

"Hey D. Having a good day so far?" Y/n asked, looking down at him slightly to talk, which irked the grey bot. D-16 hated feeling small, he already despised it with the bots who had cogs walking over him like a doormat. Teasing him about his height. But having a miner bot like him STILL be taller than him? It intimidated him a small bit.

Yet Y/n was humble when it came to their 'defect', never used it as a leverage against the miner bots. Nor made anyone feel less insignificant or unique. To which D-16 admired a lot about them, staying humble and staying true to their word. Y/n was the most honest bot he knew, sometimes a little too blunt with honesty...

"It was a rough start. Woke up with a locked joint, and fell flat on my face when trying to move." D-16 answered Y/n's question, and they listened, "You?"

"Same old same old. Getting up to go mine some energon, and that's it...Man I really wish I could do something different." Y/n complained in annoyance, their spark aching to do something more with their life.
