Aizawa was still lying on the floor. So was the other boy—Hitoshi. Hizashi was cooking in the kitchen. And here were Gon and Killua, sitting awkwardly on the couch. Although Hizashi had called them from their room with the promise of food, said nourishment was not yet ready. So now they had to sit there, awkwardly, while Aizawa and Hitoshi just lay, face down, at their feet.
Gon turned to Killua, nudging him with an elbow, and gesturing toward the floor when Killua looked at him, tilting his head to the side a little in an unspoken question.
Killua looked down at the bodies, both lying face down, and just shrugged.
"Oh fuck, they've multiplied" Hizashi mumbled as he turned back toward the living room, the food finally being ready. Only to stare at the now 4 bodies lying face down on the floor. Was this how mitosis worked? He could only guess. Walking over, he nudged each of them with a foot, not wanting to get too close in the fear of the bodies awakening to attack him. You could never know nowadays. "If you're still alive, food is at the table"
4 simultaneous groans, 2 of which were entirely without any reason, sounded from the now rising bodies. Hitoshi gave off another, longer groan as he stubbed his toe on the corner of the coffee table, cursing under his breath as he sat down next to Hizashi, Aizawa sitting across from him. Killua and Gon took the seats on the opposite end of the table from them all, not wanting to intrude. Hizashi and Aizawa each raised an eyebrow, but otherwise didn't make a comment on their position at the table, instead choosing to dig into the great amount of food laid out in front of them. Multiple plates were spread about, stocked to the brim with food.
"Don't push yourselves to eat it all, anything that isn't eaten will end up in the fridge for when we don't want to cook or for a midnight snack. Whichever comes first" Hizashi spoke after swallowing his first morsel of Omurice.
Aizawa nodded along, and Hitoshi just continued eating slowly, picking at his food. The adults shared a slightly saddened look, gazes lingering on a scar covered by fading makeup.
Meanwhile, Gon and Killua absolutely demolished their food. What did you expect? They haven't had an actual meal, especially a homecooked one, in quite a while.
Aizawa just huffed amusedly when he glanced at them only to see them stuffed to the brim with food. Yeah, they were going to be a handful, weren't they?

"Do you want to watch a movie with us?"
And well, wasn't that an intriguing offer? How often do you get to watch movies in an alternate reality/universe/world/planet/whatever?
Both boys glanced at each other, raised an eyebrow, shrugged and moved to join the family on the floor. Aizawa was honestly surprised at their level of understanding of one another's body language.
And that's how they ended up here, in a mess of limbs and blankets on the floor as some old Disney movie played on the television. The cats—sans Jinx, who was just watching from afar—were piled up between Killua and Aizawa, purring up a storm at the warmth. Killua and Gon, however, felt really awkward. After all, they were lying on the floor in a mess of blankets with two grown men and their child, whom they have known for half a day at best.
"What was it like?" Hitoshi broke the silence, the movie long having become background noise to their thought. Killua was honestly glad that he did, because he really didn't want to suffer in silence like this any longer than he had to.
