"It wouldn't ruin our friendship right ?" she asked, coincidentally tripping over her own foot.

He caught her immediately, watching her intently from the beginning to avoid the girl hurting herself, before answering.

"You're drunk, Bee."

"I'm not ? I'm tipsy, that's all ~"

She answered, though her singing voice, untroubled face and wiggly steps were, indeed, signs she had been tipsy a lot of glasses ago. But she continued speaking her mind nonetheless, words and articulation probably the only things left untouched by the alcohol running in her body.

"So, do you think it would ? Ruin us being friends ?"

"What are you rambling about, again..."

"A kiss. I've been talking about it for a while now, but you never listen to me..." Beatrice frowned, pouting as she spoke.

"Oh. Right, I didn't pay attention much, sorry for trying to keep you up on your two feet, dude." Jamie said, quirking a brow at his best friend, almost leaning on his arms for support.

"Pale excuses you speak, gentleman ~" she giggled, a childish sound that rung through the air. "But don't avoid my question, it is a genuine one, dear sir."

The boy smiled fondly at her nonsense, the crease of his eyes a clear sign of his amusement.

"Well, I've never been 'dear sir'ed before that's for sure.." he chuckled. "Nor did I ever avoid a question during this...weird conversation, thank you very much. But if you wanna know, no, it would never ruin anything, we're way over that teenager BS, do not fret dear miss."

Slowly, a wide, exaggerated smile stretched Beatrice's face, as she let out another short fit of laughter. "Yeah I like that ~" She closed her fist, only stretching out two finger. "Pinky promise ?"

Jamie laughed at her childishness, finding it somewhat endearing, before locking their pinkies and pushing his thumb against hers. "Pinky promise."

Beatrice had gotten way overboard on the drinks again, and as always, Jamie was here to get her back safe to the confines of her apartment. And, as always, the girl wanted to do anything but that, in her drunken state, suddenly taking Jamie's wrist in her hold and running off in direction of a nearby park while he was forced to follow suit, almost falling face first a few times from the impromptu running.

Finally they stopped, Beatrice letting go of the boy's arm and falling to the ground in a somewhat sitting position.

"Hey, Bea! You okay ?" Jamie immediately asked, rushing to her side and crouching to her level. A surprised look took over his features as he was answered by a laugh.

"Of course I'm okay, J !" she laughed, like he had just said the most stupid think, and for some reason, he could feel his heart skip a tiny beat. "Just a little lightheaded here for a second.. but don't you think the ground is way more comfortable ?"

She had a beaming smile, eyes almost closed from creasing, and Jamie lost himself for another instant, before discreetly shaking his head: what was wrong with him tonight ? Seeing she looked alright, the boy got up, stretching his legs a little, before offering her a hand to do the same.

"To say it's the one sprawled on the dirty ground that's calling the other silly..." he huffed with a smile.

But the moment the girl took his hand, she just forcefully pulled him to the floor with her. "See ? Not too bad ~"
