Later that night, as Milo wandered through the quiet halls of the mansion, she passed by Logan and Harper's room. The door was half open, just enough for her to catch a glimpse inside. Her heart suddenly skipped a beat as her eyes landed on the scene: Logan and Harper sitting close together, holding hands.
Milo's entire body froze. The sight sent a wave of shock through her. She couldn't look away, even as her mind raced to process what she was seeing.
Milo tore her gaze away from the door and hurried down the hall, her mind swirling with confusion and a knot tightening in her chest. She didn't know how to feel—seeing Logan and Harper together like that, holding hands. It was strange, unsettling even. Harper, her best friend, now dating Logan, her brother.
She missed Hank more than ever, and now this.

Milo laid back on her bed, staring at the ceiling, lost in her thoughts when a soft knock interrupted the silence. "Yeah?" she called out, sitting up slowly.
The door creaked open, and Logan appeared in the doorway, arms crossed, his expression as unreadable as ever.
"So this is where you've been hiding?" he asked, stepping into the room slightly, his tone casual but laced with curiosity.
"You don't remember, do you?" Milo repeated, her voice softer now, a hint of sadness in her tone.
Logan frowned, tilting his head slightly. "Remember what?"
Milo looked at her brother, her heart pounding in her chest as she weighed the decision to tell him the truth. The memory of when he stabbed her still lingered like a fresh wound, but she wasn't sure she could bring herself to talk about it now.
"Nevermind. Forget what I said," she muttered, her voice tight with hesitation.
Logan stepped into the room, narrowing his eyes slightly as he looked around. "Okay," he said, though his tone suggested he wasn't letting it go that easily.
"You're hiding something," Logan said, his voice steady as he studied her closely.
Milo glanced at him, a small sigh escaping her lips. "I'm not hiding. Just... thinking."
Logan raised an eyebrow, leaning against the doorframe. "You don't think too much, do ya? Doesn't suit you."
Milo gave him a weak smile, shaking her head. "Thanks for the pep talk, Logan. Really."
He smirked but didn't respond right away. Instead, he studied her, noticing the tired look in her eyes. "You look like you haven't slept."
She shrugged, looking away. "Haven't really had much of a reason to."
Logan's expression softened, his arms unfolding as he stepped closer. "You're not the only one missin' people, you know."
Milo, who had been staring at her lap, looked up at Logan, her expression a mix of frustration and sadness. "At least your girlfriend talks to you," she said, her voice laced with bitterness. "I wonder how that feels. My boyfriend hasn't made any contact with me in the past few days."
