The swirling fog engulfed Pond, wrapping him in a suffocating silence as the world around him dissolved into darkness. His heart raced, and the oppressive magic of the forest seemed to press down on him from all sides, as if testing his every breath, his every thought. The eerie silence stretched on for what felt like hours, until finally, a faint light began to shimmer in the distance.

Pond blinked, his surroundings slowly coming into focus. He was no longer standing in the strange forest trial chamber. Instead, he found himself in a vast, empty space—an endless black void. The only thing breaking the darkness was the dim, flickering light ahead.

He stepped toward the light cautiously, each footfall echoing unnaturally loud in the silence. His magic felt muted, barely there, and that unnerved him more than he wanted to admit.

"What is this place?" Pond muttered to himself, his voice echoing back at him.

The light ahead grew brighter, and as Pond approached, he could make out a figure standing in the center of the void. A tall, imposing silhouette cloaked in shadow.

Pond stopped in his tracks, his heart skipping a beat. The figure was unmistakable. It was... him.

Or rather, it was a twisted reflection of himself. The shadowy figure stepped forward, revealing a version of Pond that looked older, harsher. His eyes were cold, and the magic swirling around him was dark and ominous, nothing like the magic Pond had learned to control. This version of himself stood with an air of superiority, his expression filled with disdain.

"This... isn't real," Pond whispered, though doubt was already creeping into his mind.

"Isn't it?" the shadow Pond said, his voice echoing with a sinister edge. "This is who you could become. A prince who hides behind a mask of kindness, only to abandon those closest to him when the power becomes too tempting."

Pond's throat tightened. "That's not me."

The shadow smirked. "Not yet. But how long before you give in to the power you crave? The magic you're so proud of will consume you—just like it's consumed countless others before you. You'll forsake everything—your friends, your kingdom, your people."

"I won't!" Pond's voice rose, anger bubbling inside him. "I'd never—"

"Never?" the shadow interrupted, stepping closer. "You're already hiding from your responsibilities, pretending to be something you're not. How long can you keep running from the truth, Pond? How long before your magic becomes more important than your people?"

Pond clenched his fists, his magic flickering weakly in response. "I'm not running. I'm doing this to protect Solara. I'm not hiding."

The shadow chuckled darkly. "You're lying to yourself. You think you can control the power, but it will always control you. It will twist you, corrupt you... and when it does, there will be no one left to stop you."

Pond's anger surged, but beneath it, a cold fear gripped his heart. The shadow's words cut deep because a part of him—no matter how small—wondered if it was right.

"No," Pond whispered, shaking his head. "I won't let that happen."

The shadow smirked, its eyes gleaming with malice. "We'll see."

While Pond struggled with his dark reflection, elsewhere in the forest's magical fog, Joong was facing his own trial.

Joong found himself in the midst of a battlefield. The air was thick with the smell of smoke and blood, and the sounds of clashing swords filled his ears. He looked down and saw his armor was covered in dirt and grime, his sword slick with blood.
