Raising A Bun In The Apocalypse

Chapter 3

After bringing An Wei to school and filing for a neat leave of abscence from her work; which she had forgotten yesterday due to her frantic rebirth, An Yiyi went directly to the warehouse to recieve the key and finish the paperwork. The supplies she bought will arrive anytime today, because she chose the option of one day shipping, although she paid extra, it was also the price for her security.

Taking her car, she then went into the hardware store to buy some minor things; such as nails, nail gun, some ply wood and cement. She also bought 30 ten tier shelves, to be assembled and put into space.

After paying, she happened to ask the uncle there, if he knew anybody who could seal the balcony, and install anti theft door. As for electricity, she also asked if there was some who knew hot install a solar energy panel.

"My brother owns a construction shop! If he says to be second, no one will claim to be number 1!" The uncle boasts proudly. "Not only will he guarantee you quality, the price is also fair."

After exchanging contact information of the owner's brother, and seeing the reputable and honest reviews online An Yiyi had some peace of mind.

"Uncle, how about this? Is it possible to do it within a week? I can pay extra." An Yiyi asked. "There's been some robbing around my area, and the police have not yet caught the perpetrator. It would give me some peace of mind if it can be done early." 

"No problem. I can speak to him about it." The uncle promised her, and An Yiyi thanked him plenty.

After settling the matter of her house, An Yiyi then went to one of the biggest mall in the area. She immediately went into the department store, to buy things like underwear, t-shirt, down jacket, pants, shorts, socks and the like.

An Yiyi picked out neutral colors, ones that won't stick out, and filled her shopping bag with it. In the end, she bought a dozen pair each. She also made sure to buy atleast 5 pairs of running shoes for herself, and 5 for Xiao wei, adding 5 teenager ones, and 5 for adults. Then some flip flops, with 5 each.

An Yiyi ended up spending 30,000 in the store. Then, she stuffed all of the shopping bags in her backseat, filling it halfway.

As for power banks, An Wei bought ten solar powered ones, and 5 more mini fans. She also bought 5 tablet, and 5 solar phones. The people thought she was just a wilfull rich shopper, and sent her off with freebies such as free cases and the likes.

Again, she went to her car to store all her things, and took the elevator to buy some things again.

An Yiyi went to the appliance, and bought 5 large fans, 5 stoves and 100 pieces of mini gas cans. She also had the foresight to buy 2 big freezer for storing meat.Then she also bought turbo airconditioner, only 3 quantities. As for pots and pans, An Yiyi bought 6 each, aswell as 5 knives and a dozen plate, bowls and utensils. She signed the reciept, and asked for it to be delivered to her warehouse.

After going up and down, An Yiyi was still spirited, but she was tired and hungry physically. She went to the food court, and bought a meal of hot ramen.

An Yiyi liked the taste, so she asked to take out atleast a dozen on the guise of taking it back for her colleague. She would return later for it.

After resting for a while, An Yiyi then went to the grocery part. Buying 10 kilos of beef and chicken, then 5 kilos of salt and sugar, vegetables like potato, lettuce, cucumber etc. All in 5 bags each. Also bought 2 10 kilo rice. Then she also bought 12 hot pot bases, 5 canned meat, 3 kilo bacon, 30 pieces eggs and 2 40 pack water, 3 cans of milk powder and some wipes and tissues.

After taking all her things, and the ramen, she proceeded to her car. The backseat was full, as was the trunk and she spent six figures today. Although steep, she settled some necessary things, and was incredibly satisfied.

An Yiyi swept things into space, once she reached a place with no surveillance. However, she still went home with a large bag of supplies, the prominent logo of clothing shop displayed as to make sure that people would have no ill intention towards them later on.

As if saying, hey! This is not food but clothes. There is nothing to eat at my home.

An Yiyi then, after arriving home, called the construction company recommended by the boss in the construction shop. She used the same excuse of robbery, to tighten the security of her home, and she and the boss agreed to do the job for 100,000.

Although alot, she also added to add water tank in her balcony for 1000L water, aswell as solar panels to energize the whole house of 3 rooms and bathrooms. Also adding two security doors, and sealing the balcony and changing the windows to bulletproof ones.

The job was agreed to start and finish in 5 days, overnight included.

An Yiyi was somehow satisfied, but there was still so much things to do. What to do? She only has one body and two arms and legs, it's not possible to do all things at once.

Deciding to multi-task, An Yiyi first downloaded ebooks in the An Wei's tablet such as mathematics, science, reason and logic, planting etc. then she also downloaded entertainment such as cartoons and games. After that, she downloaded medical books, planting books, cook books and other entertainment books aswell. As for videos, she downloaded recipes, sewing, knitting, variety shows, romance dramas, comedy dramas in all the tablets.

While it was downloading, she assembled the shelves, all 30 of it. Only half fit in the 3rd room of her house, and she decided to leave a space for two freezers in it aswell.

Then, she swept the shelves into her space and put her supplies in an orderly manner. Food, snacks, drinks, clothing, hygiene in different shelves.

An Yiyi looked at her supplies, good for atleast months and felt some happiness. They would live well!
