The next day, classes finally started. I woke up to the sound of Creeta chirping loudly as she flew around waking everyone from their deepest dreams, her shrill chirps cutting through the stillness of the room. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and stretched, the events of the previous night still lingering in the back of my mind. Tyler's whispered warning about Chase echoed in my head, but I pushed it aside. I had to focus on the day ahead.
After getting dressed and grabbing my satchel filled with books, I headed to my first class: Lycanthropy. The hallway buzzed with energy of students moving to their respective classes, everyone eager to start the day. I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as I made my way through the crowd.
The lycanthropy classroom was at the end of a long corridor, its door marked with an intricate symbol of a wolf howling at the moon. I took a deep breath and stepped inside. The room was spacious with large windows that let in the warm morning light. Desk were arranged in a semi-circle facing the front, where a large chalkboard was covered in notes and diagrams.
I found a seat near the middle, trying to blend in but wanting a good view of the board. As I settled in, I noticed a girl enter the room, with striking red hair, adorned with pointed ears of a fox atop her head, and sharp green eyes reflecting her wild spirit. She caught my eye and gave me a small, friendly smile. I smiled back, feeling a bit more at ease.
Our Professor Dr, Thorn walked in shortly after.
He was a tall man, with shaggy brown hair that barely touched the top of his shoulders, and piercing brown eyes giving him and almost wolf-like appearance. He place his notes on the desk and looked around the room, his gaze sharp and assessing.
"My name is Dr. Thorn and Welcome to Lycanthropy," he began, his voice deep and resonant. "This class will explore the history, biology, and culture of lycanthropes. We will Delve into the transformations, myths, and the realities. By the end of this course, you will have a comprehensive understanding of what it means to be a lycanthrope. Sierra Rivers, a Second Shifter, is here with me as my assistant for her field assignment. If I am unavailable, please ask Sierra, her knowledge in Lycanthropy is extensive." That's the same girl who caught my eye earlier upon entering the classroom.
