The beggining of the shift begins when the world's baby boom did not stop even up until around 2017, but by then the world was beggining to even out in the population. Earth in this universe was decades ahead of it's time, and technology rapidly developed in the 2000's.
The world had lost only parts of the Library of Alexandria, and because of this the world advanced faster than it does in our timeline. Many people on this Earth even call it "Terra" due to the fact they could be called Terrans. This world is a lot more livable if you understand what I mean.
As a result, new factions and wars were sprung up in the world. The Arab Spring occoured between 1972 and 2004, and caused a massive economic resurgence of the Middle East to the world stage. This was due to a lack of any Intervention by 1970... as the world was nearly brought to it's knees by surging Empires.
As a result, the world saw the Reformed States of Americaform in the ashes of the United States. With the Landmass of around 3.1 Million sq miles, lies 2.408 Billion people and a GDP of §1.254 Quadrillion. America had returned with a fresh start, and wanted to redeem itself as it's founding fathers intended it to be.
