The RSA was the strongest Economy, Industry and had the most Patriotism in the entire world, likely the most of any nation in Human history. This was due to their very unique culture of blending other cultures. Hispanics and all groups were welcomed with open arms, and were brought to be full blooded Americans.
Meanwhile, Europe struggled with a handful of Migrants. It was hard for anyone to deal with it, but it seemed that the RSA dealt with it way better. It felt as if the Americans were blessed by God himself...
The EU decided in 1995 to develop a brand new alliance called the International Treaty Organization (ITO), Citing that their allies would need protection against "American influence" to put it lightly. America in this universe is treated like Russia is today... but don't even act like them.
ITO would grow to 17 nations, and bolster nations from Quebec in North America, all the way to Huánán in Asia. However, this did NOT mean that ITO was invincible, and their cracks showed in the 2010's when Huázhōng, Joseon and Nippon pledged their support for the Americans.
However, ITO was the world's largest Military alliance. They boasted over 8.6 Billion people, and a full military of over 21 Million personnel. Against the Americans alone, they could very well fight and succeed. This put Americans on the spotlight for any future conflict on the Earth. But EU Oligarchs wanted full control of ITO...
ITO was basically other nations leeching off of Europe, which allowed for European Industry to explode in capacity. The issue was, they still have One-Fourth of American Industry. Even ITO is outdone in nearly all Industrial sectors by America alone. This allowed American Tarrifs to strike hard.
