We know the steps, the golden path,
The righteous way that spares the wrath,
Yet tread the shadows, hand in hand,
With choices carved in poisoned sand.We know the light, the softer glow,
But chase the dark where tempests grow,
We feast on sins with starving eyes,
And drape ourselves in hollow lies.We preach the truth, yet breathe deceit,
In loops of blame, we find retreat.
We know the fall, the edge, the price-
But dance along the cracking ice.A whispered voice inside, ignored,
A silenced cry we can't afford.
To know is not to act, we see,
For in our hearts, we're never free.So round the ruin, round we spin,
In knowing better, we still sin.
Chained by choices we make too soon-
And doomed to howl beneath the moon.
