Place: Private Training Arena in Poseidon's Palace.
Percy's POV:
"Woah." Those were Percy's first words when he stepped into the training arena. He had never seen or been here before so he expected it to be quite grand. But he never imagined that it would be even more better and bigger in real life.
He could see the rows of gleaming weapons on the side, away from the arena. There were all types of weapons but he can see the most prominent ones are tridents, spears and staffs. They were not only the most in number but also had more intricate designs that he could see even from afar. The fighting arena was huge, about 2 football fields in diameter. But the most surprising thing was the amount of books he saw.
"What are those for?" Percy pointed towards the row of books, skeptical that the royal family would actually read this many books.
"Scrolls for recording down fights in the past." Poseidon simply said and guided Percy to the fighting arena, along with a disgruntled Triton.
Percy was quite surprised that they would record down fights in the form of books. It was quite genius actually. It seems like that is a lot more to learn about his dad.
"Come, let's start." Poseidon pushed Percy and Triton into the fighting arena.
"Wait we just fight? Like right now?" Percy asked in confusion.
"Yes." Was his father's only response. Percy could see a slight smirk appearing on his face.
"Bully"
Percy took out riptide. Then he realized he was supposed to be fighting with the trident. He would name it later. He was quite tired of mentally calling it 'the trident'. He concentrated and the bracelet on his right wrist turned into the beautiful sea-green trident he seen before.
First things he noticed, the trident was even heavier than before! He knew that it would be like this since his father told him but now that he removed the water, he could feel the true weight of it without the water's help.
Forget about wielding the trident expertly. It would be a miracle if he could lift it off the ground with one arm!
"What's wrong little demigod? Can't handle a little bit of weight?" Too much for your fragile body?" Triton taunted him while taking out his own trident, expertly swinging it around with ease. It was clearly meant to show that he was far better than him.
With all his effort, Percy lifted the trident off the ground with his right arm. The trident gleamed under the light and was humming with power. Too bad Percy probably can't used that power. Internally, Percy was screaming in pain.
"Owww! I think I dislocated my shoulder, hyper-extended my arm muscles and my back."
"You ready Percy?" Poseidon asked.
"YUP, YUP! Totally fine!" Percy yelped through gritted teeth. He needed to think of a plan to use this trident effectively. He could barely hold it up, he couldn't possibly hope to wield it. Much less to swing it like Triton did just then.
"Well then, if you say so." Poseidon shrugged and counted down from 5.

GO!
Triton leaped forward with blinding speed and swung at Percy, full of killing intent. Percy somehow managed to fumble his trident to block. However, Triton knocked the trident out of Percy's hands and Percy instinctively rolled towards his trident, narrowly dodging the timed strike from Triton's trident.
