He pulls me close, biting into my neck. I grab onto his arm, letting out a small groan, trying to endure the pain. He pulls his fangs out of my neck, and our gazes meet.
"I should stop," he said.
"No, don't...I mean, I'm fine," I said while blushing.
"Maya, you were digging in my arm with your nails. It's best that we call it a night," Xavier said while stepping back.
I walk back into my room, lying down, wondering why I acted as I did. I hated him from the start he took everything away from me, but now I don't know what to feel. He shouldn't even care what happens to me, and I should've taken his money and said I wanted to leave. Why didn't I?
The Next Morning
I woke up and went down to eat breakfast. After breakfast, I thought I could ask Xavier if I could pick out a book in his study. I knocked on his door, but there was no response, and I couldn't open it because it was locked. I heard footsteps approaching.
"Well, if it isn't...what's your name again? Maya," Evelyn said. As I turned around, I saw Evelyn wearing the same clothes she had last time: Xavier's shirt and no pants.
"What are you doing here, and where's Xavier?" I asked.
"Well, to answer your questions, Xavier's in his bedroom. As to why I'm here, well, me and Xavier had se—"
"You know I'm good, I don't want to hear what you both did," I interrupted. I continued to walk to Xavier's bedroom.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Xavier's getting dressed, and you'll probably see something you can't unsee," she warned.
"I'll just knock," I said. She nodded, walking off. I knocked on the door, waiting for a response. I heard silence, wondering if he was even in there. I opened the door, but I didn't see Xavier. Instead, I heard the shower running.
I should have left, but instead, I smelled his cologne that filled the room, looking at the sheets all messed up on his bed. I began to close my eyes, imagining his hands riding up my body while on his bed. While imagining all this, I bite my lip.
"Maya!" Xavier growled, startled. I jumped, knocking out of my trance. Covering himself with a towel just in time he asked.
"What are you doing here?" he growled again.
"I...I was going to ask you a question," I stuttered. Looking at his chest with water dripping, I panicked. "I should let you get dressed," I said, running out of his bedroom. I closed the door behind me, taking a moment to breathe.
"I told you, and now you are standing here blushing," Evelyn said, standing beside me. I ignored her and walked past her. I went up to my room and lay on the bed. One hour passed by, and I heard a knock on the door.
"Maya." Xavier called out. I jumped up to answer the door, and as I saw Xavier's face, I began to blush.
"You never came back to ask me the question you wanted to ask me earlier," he stated.
"Um, oh, I was going to ask if I could pick out any other book to read in your study," I said.
"That's what was so important when you came to my room earlier, seeing me half naked?" he asked rhetorically. I looked at him and smiled.
"Um, yes." I replied.
He sighed. "Well, tonight, we're going somewhere, so get dressed, Maya."
"Wait...who...me...with you?" I laughed, surprised.
