"You've recovered ?" Moran asks, a whisky glass in his hand and his legs sprawled out on the opposite chair. "What's it to you ?" You raise a brow, barely facing him to meet his gaze as your arms moved vigorously, desperate to sweep the seemingly none existent dirt away so you could leave as quickly as possible. He rotates his hand, his drank, which was almost completely drank, swirled in the glass. He was clearly amused at your despair. All you want is to wipe that smirk off his face so bad it pinches your skin. "My my ! What an attitude !" He places his drink down. "It seems your recent dramatic event has left you quiet."

You wish he got the message.

Your grip on the broom is tight, so tight that you may end up with a splinter as your knuckles began to turn white. All you were doing was simply attempting to sweep the floor and yet someone just had to barge right in, he might as well of had mud under his boots.
He was acting too much.

"You call being kidnapped just a dramatic event ?" You squint in irritation. If he was so casual about this, then what exactly would be extreme to him ?

"Pick up my chores and I'll make sure you won't be let out." He walks past you not without shoving the brush in your hand.
You were though ! He had no reason to parade around you like that with his drink ! His clear reason for his appearance was obviously just to taunt you as he didn't even try to have a decent conversation with you. Not once did he ask about your well being -not that you cared- and worse he didn't even ask you to take up his chores. He told you to.

He could go fuck himself for all you cared.
Just when you thought you were alone with yourself a voice that you agonisingly recognise spoke out from behind.

"Pardon me but could I speak with you for a moment ?"

It's him. Unfortunately so, it's him. You hate that no words can slip past your lips when he speaks to you. You try very hard to ignore it but Moran smirking doesn't help. You're quick to make a face at him to remind him thats he's an annoying prick that's not helping. "Okay." You sigh, attempting to prove not only Moran but yourself wrong. You're hesitant but quick to turn to finally face him.
William, still polite with his hands behind his back. You can only reply with a small nod and placing the brush away, abandoning the useless act.

A tall bottle of whatever-seemingly wine was placed at the edge of Williams office desk.
At only moment the bottle could tip over and smash in an instant. The feeling was mutual.
It looked quick to grab like a tease.
Perhaps it was. William had placed it there.
"You like to indulge yourself in drinking ?" He starts the conversation abruptly, you dish t speak once entirely on your way to the office.
"Who doesn't ?" You shrug, standing still, noticing how the bottle a filled to the brim.

He sits down and raises his hand, offering the seat opposite him. That wasn't there before when you hid under the desk ? It sounded awful now just thinking it. You decline, nerves kicking in. "So what is it ?" You ask, not realising how blunt you sounded.
"I wanted to know that you're content, miss."
His hands locked together, elbows rested on the desk. You noted how he had a gentle look on his face. Gentle but his eyes still had a gaze that contained knowledge like he knew something deeper. What did he know ? You've no idea.

"Why are you acting so formal ?" You shake your head, laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. Oh wait-weren't these seemingly fancy rich men bred to be this way ? Well Moran definitely wasn't.

He still remained serious though, patiently waiting for you to answer his question as if he didn't hear your remark.

There's a sense of welcoming in his tone and yet you can't help but also feel an evident bit of fake along with it. You look over, he's still remains well composed with a faint polite smile on his face despite the awkwardness due to the silence between you both.

"You, a young attractive seemingly without a spouse appear-
He stops himself when your face shows confusion, not wanting to offend you. Not one bit. "Unless I'm mistaken ?" He's polite as usual but you notice the slight raise in his brows and you wonder what does his face look like when he's not all mister kind. Does his unreal eyes change when he's mad ? Does his brows soften when he's sad ? Does he pout ? Has he ever pouted ? What does he look like when he-

"Huh ?" You spoke, mouth opened like a fish out of water. He offers a soft small smile on amusement. "Can I ask you something stupid ?" You change the topic not so swiftly. You're willing to sacrifice a couple of brain cells to save you from this awkward never ending discussion. "There is no childish question." He states, he sits still in his chair, still confident yet eyeing you somewhat cautiously as you move towards his side as if in secret. "I found a note." You pull from the banding of your skirt. No pockets, what a joy.

"I don't understand it and I thought maybe you'd understand it ?" You hand him the note which he carefully takes, you become fidget with your hands as your left empty handed, taking in the slight silence as William opens the folded piece of paper.
"I thought maybe if there was someone I could ask about it would be you ?"

He stares upon the writing, taking it in.
He is the lord of crime is all laid out on the paper. It was then at that exact moment you think you know what Williams face looks like for even a split second when he's conflicted.
