It was only a moment,
Just a second in time,
Him looking at me,
The look of fondness,
The fact he cares,
It was only a moment,
His arm over my shoulder,
His thumb across my skin,
Me looking at him,
The admiration and care,
A moments gaze,
A moments time.
I was safe,
I was loved,
I was happy.
His arms around me,
The breath on my neck,
The moment of emotion.
The second I did not feel sad,
The second I felt loved,
The second someone cared,
The moment I was safe.
Only a moment,
Simply a second.
Now there is only air,
The cold of the night ,
The moment is gone,
The second being pushed into the past.
A bittersweet smile,
A soft goodbye,
And that is all.
The moment is gone,
And the seconds pass by.
A moment that will never return,
A feeling that is lost.
The safety,
Happiness
The feeling of love,
They are all gone.
They will never return.
A moment in time,
A second lost.
