You know what I am making this a happy story. It fits this book cause she is broken. She never truly let's herself love him
Rose (^_^) A star for you

She stood up and grabbed her jacket of the bed next to her. Sliding her arms in one by one, she pulled the soft cloth over her and sat for a moment savoring the warmth. Jumping off the bed managing to end up standing straight up she was on the taller side. Her hair was a frizzed dull red her nose and cheeks speckled with freckles. She jogged to the door and pulled it open the freezing air rushing in to drain the warmth from the room.
She stepped outside and her foot sunk down into the snow and a laugh escaped her lips as she pulled her foot back up. Stepping into the pure white substance the cold bit her cheeks turning them a rosey red.
Laughing as she tromped through the snow the specks of white landed on her face melting quickly. Soon her laughter was gone and her hood pulled up over her head to keep the snow from wetting her face more then it had already.
A large building loomed in front of her large glass doors showing the inside to a mall. She extended an arm and pushed the doors in the freezing air rushing in and the hot air rushing out. Stepping inside she was greeted with rows of shops and walked to the one where she always met anyone when they made the meeting place the mall.
Walking up to the cute little store she glanced inside to find him towering over the shelves. Standing at his chest he was definitely tall for their age, not tall like her the there are taller people kind of tall but tall tall. She unzipped the jacket revealing the tank top she wore underneath.
"God Ginge how are you not frozen" his deep voice rumbled in his chest against her ear as he leaned down to envelop her in a tight hug planting a small kiss on her cheek. He straitened back up and took her hand as they exited the store.
Ginger glanced around hoping to god that Nathaniel didn't notice how even after 3 months she didn't quite hug as loving as he did or was not used to the nickname he had given her. She was never really one to open up not one to let someone in but Nathaniel on the other hand he was an open book.
She knew everything about him most of all she knew it hurt him to see how she didn't love him as much as he loved her. But that was not true she loved him with everything she had but she had been broken before. She had opened up to someone and thought they had done the same only to find nearly every word he had said was a lie.
She was pulled back from her thought as he gave her hand a squeeze and her grip on him slackened as she realized during her thoughts her hand had tightened protectively around his. "Sorry" she said with a little laugh as they wandered the polished expanse that made up the mall with no real direction.
The song that had been playing finished and another switched on but it took a bit for her to notice the familiar song. "I tried my best to never let you in to see the truth; And I've never opened up; I've never truly loved 'til you put your arms around me; And I believe that it's easier for you to let me go" she sang under her breath as they neared the stairs that would take them to the next floor.
Looking up she saw him looking ahead the look on his face she loved so much, he looked as if everything was new and beautiful and just awe inspiring. A soft smile always touched his lips a curious spark in his light grey-green eyes. Nathaniel was so innocent to the problems of the world around him, either that or he was to polite to say anything about the scars crossing her arms. Scars that were still healing. For the 3 months they had been together no new scars had appeared and that was something she remained proud of.
Seeing his eyes flicker down her gaze turned away but she felt his eyes burning into the back of her head. Pressure on her hand brought gingers attention back to him a worried look etched onto his face "Wanna go? You could come over to my house or something" he suggested his voice rumbling out and she nodded gratefully.
Pulling her hand from his she zipped her jacket back up. He took her hand once more as they stepped out of the mall into the cleared streets fallen snow piled high on either side of them. As they started towards his house he pulled his hands along with one of hers into his jacket pocket.
Hand in hand they slowly walked down the street neither paying much attention to one another. Periodically ginger would build up the courage to look up at the boy she was happy to call her own her heart giving a little flutter each time and it pained her to know she would never be able to explain to him these little things she did that showed she really did love him even, if it seemed she didn't.
She looked around as they stepped into the house a soft smile planted on her lips as she looked up at him. He smiled down at her and guided her to the couch placed in the living room and switched on a movie before sitting pulling her to his side. Ginger gladly placed her head on the tall boys chest feeling the rhythmic beat of his heart against her ear. Letting everything slip her mind letting it all be okay for the time being.
Eventually it was easy to see that both teens had grown tired of the movie as neither of their eyes were on the screen. Nathaniel's were on ginger and gingers were flickering around the house, avoiding his gaze. Her attention was drawn from scanning the inside of the house when two fingers slipped under her chin tilting her face up and to the side a little.
She was not sure how it happened but ginger found her lips pressed to Nathaniel's and her eyes closed till she felt his tongue dart across her bottom lip. At that her body went rigid and she pulled back her gaze turning to the ground.
A hand brushed against her arms "come on Ginger it's not a big deal" he said quietly not seeming to be pushing her though his words pressured her making her anxiety worse. (A/n she has anxiety right now because she feels she's letting him down that they expect more out of her than what she can give )
"I'm sorry babe but it's to much" she said feeling the flaming tears lick the back of her eyes. As he tried to pull her chin back to face him she shook him off standing. "I-I'm sorry" She muttered starting out towards the door pulling her jacket over her head. When he asked why this was so sudden she stopped in her tracks not even sure he could hear her with what she was saying "it's not sudden. I'm broken I have the cracks to show it" she said her arms crossing over her stomach right at the ends of her ribs. She bit her lip feeling the tears close to falling. As the first salty drop rolled down her face she was out the door closing it on a dumbfounded Nathaniel.
"So your broken can we work this out" she heard him call through door and her head hung as she hastily made her way back home.
They ended okay she didn't break up with him.
