"Kill them," the technician ordered.
The battle robot looked out at the huddle of shivering civilians. Not military targets. Not threats.
The technician aimed a kick at the robot's metal leg. "Kill them, you useless tangle of circuits."
One of the civilians, a small child, started crying. He stared at the robot with terror in his eyes. The robot looked away.
With a grunt of annoyance, the technician pulled out a gun and shot the child between the eyes. "You need maintenance," he told the robot. "A long session this time."
"No, please—"
"By the end, you'll regret disobeying."
