Chapter Eleven
The next morning I wake up to see Drelkin at his desk reading. I slip out of bed and walk up to him.
"Morning beautiful." He says to me.
"Morning." I say and kiss him on the cheek.
"If you wish I can have our breakfast brought up to us." He says, setting his book down.
"Does this mean I can go back to bed?" I ask.
He laughs. "Yes." He says while rolling his eyes.
I happily skip back to the bed. After a moment I smirk at him.
"What?" He asks.
"It's awfully lonely over here." I say as innocently as possible.
He laughs and rolls his eyes again.
"Oh come on! It's cold." I pout.
He smiles and with a shake of his head walks over to the bed. "You're such a child." He says as he crawls in.
"Oh really?" I say, pulling him closer. "Does a child do this?" I kiss his neck, making him shiver.
His eyes fill with hunger. "You should be careful around me." He says.
"Why?" I say.
He moves quickly, pinning me to the bed. My loose shirt riding up a bit.
"Because I could kill you in a moment." He breathes.
"Oh? Is the big bad vampire going to kill me?" I smirk at him.
"Watch your tongue. I'm still the king of Hell." He says.
We're interrupted by a knock on the door.
"That must be the food." He says.
"What?" I'm very confused, he didn't even ask me what I wanted.
He gets up and goes to the door. He comes back with two trays filled with food.
"Wow." I breathe.
He sits back down in the bed and pulls me to him.
"Where have you been all my life?" I ask him.
"Oh, you know, just ruling Hell."

It feels nice to not have to worry about anything. Drelkin distracts me from everything. He shows me all around the castle and we spend the day laughing and just messing around. But it all had to come to an end at some point.
"I have to go back." I tell Drelkin that night.
"Why?" He asks, sadness in his eyes.
"They're my people, I need to keep them safe." I say.
"But if you go back he's there." He says.
"I know, but know I know about his powers. I won't be swayed by him." I reassure him.
Drelkin takes the necklace and waves a hand over it before putting it around my neck.
"There. Now it's enchanted to resist his magic." He says.
"So what's the game plan?" I ask.
"What do you mean?"
"Well before I was pretending to pretend to love you. We need a new plan now."
"We still don't know what he wants with you. And if you're up for it we can find out exactly how he plans on taking my throne." I detect slight worry in his voice.
