His Drama Queen 👑 Chapter 7

Maryuda's P.O.V

   "Jiddarhhhhhhhhhh,maijiddarhhhhhhhhh".I shouted the moment I entered Hauwa's house,and I knew she was sleeping.

Two minutes later she came skipping the stairs with a serious face and asking what the matter is. And mind you my girl didn't disappoint me, infact she never does, because she looks as if she has been sleeping for the past 24 hours and mind you,it's 11am.

"Meyafaru Ammi?ihun mai kikeyi haka?(what's wrong Ammi?and why are you shouting?)"she asked trying to hold her hair together which has been sticking in all directions.

"Na shiga uku Hauwa(I'm done for Hauwa) I went ahead and accepted a marriage proposal when I'm obviously not ready to get married".

She looked at me from head to toe as if I've grown multiple heads overnight,and the next minute she was laughing hysterically.
"Wait wait I don't understand,you accepted a marriage proposal?and you're not ready for marriage?and if I tell you Ammi you need medical advice you'll say I'm mad and not you,does this sound like something a normal person would do?"

"Jiddarh please keep that aside, I'm already loosing my mind as it is'.

"Why then did you accept a marriage proposal if you know you'll loose your mind afterwards?"

"It's a long story,I'm tired". I said going up the stairs to her room as she walked after me,I salamed and sat on her bed and crossed my legs, while she sat on a one sitter couch facing me,Hauwa and her love for gist are like 5&6.

"You remember the day I came ba?"I asked while she nodded her head urging me to go on.

'So I went back home to a fleet of cars at home and mom said dad had some guests,after a while dad came and told us that a family came and that they were asking for my hand in marriage for their son,and that I should meet up with the guy before saying anything,so I agreed and went ahead having in mind that whatever happens I'm rejecting that marriage proposal, but when I got there......................"

Hauwa's gasp interrupted me, "Don't tell me you fell in love at first sight,does that even happen?"

"Hauwa don't interrupt me again or else I'm not saying anything more".

"Okay sorry continue I won't interrupt again".

"When I got to the restaurant we were supposed to meet,I saw him sitted and doing only God knows what on his phone, that's not even my business,he started yelling and saying no one ever keeps him waiting,after yelling and apologizing for yelling he told me about how his sister met me for the first time and decided to include me in their family's mess by telling their dad that she has found a perfect match for her brother,well to cut the long story short,he said I should reject the marriage proposal from my end and i'm like why doesn't he reject it,that pompous, arrogant idiot said he can't because he doesn't want to be disrespectful to his parents. It would have taken nothing from me to reject the proposal,but who does he think he is?it's me that will now look like the bad guy in front of my own parents abi?"

"So I told him that I refuse to reject any proposal if he doesn't want to get married he should say that to his parents and not me,and he stormed out of the restaurant after saying all sorts of rubbish".

"That was long".Hauwa started.
"So let me understand something Amimah you're getting married to a guy who has given you a red card? because you want to prove a certain point of stubbornness?"

"No don't say it like that I'm agreeing to get married to him because my parents want that,they also feel I should get married since I'm already done with school,if he likes let him give me a rainbow card,I won't back down unless he does".

"Is this a challenge or what?that someone would have to back down or else they'll be no going back? And the Maryuda I know can never be forced to do what she doesn't want to,so quit saying it's because your parents want that,tell me something else".

"You can call it that, but i refuse to be the disrespectful one to my parents".

"Well fine then,but Ammi,have you thought about this properly?I don't think it's a good idea".

"Hauwa do you think it's a bad idea?"I asked Hauwa.

"I don't think it's a bad idea,I know it's a bad idea,since I said it's not a good idea,it's obviously a bad idea.Ammi just go back home and better reject it, because come on who wants to spend their whole life with a guy that has come across as a very senseless guy, imagine him wanting to be seen as a respectful son in the eyes of his parents,and you the bad guy in the eyes of your own parents? that's selfishness at it's best".

"Okay his parents are supposed to come over today,I'll just tell them I don't want that,and that.............."

My phone's vibration interrupted us and mom's name flashed on the caller ID.
"Subahanallah,I just remembered Hauwa,mom asked me not to stay long since that guy and his parents are coming over for lunch at our place,I think that's why she is calling,let me rush home before I pick this call and receive a slap through this phone".I said trying to fix my face and cover my veil properly.

"Make sure you call me and give me the update,I forgive you for delaying before telling me about this one".

"Whatever helps you sleep at night jiddarh, nikam na tafi(I'm leaving)"
I skipped down the stairs and I drove out of the compound not before hearing Hauwa say I shouldn't cause any form of accident on the way, because I was trying to be fast.

I dressed up in a peach coloured Abaya,and rushed to Dad's sitting room since they were already here,I salamed greeted them and sat down on the floor with the guy whose name I just remembered I didn't know,but do I care?no.

Dad cleared his voice and started talking,I only caught up at the point where he said they'll ask us one more time to hear our replies.

"So Sooraj do you agree with getting married to Maryuda? Yes he said without even pretending to think about it, really?"

"And Maryuda do you also agree?"
Dad asked and ten pairs of eyes fell on me eight with a hopeful glint and two with a look that says agree if you have the guts to.

"Is this a court wedding or what? Where they'll have to ask both the couples if they are ready to spend their whole lives with each other".
