ᯓᡣ𐭩ᯓᡣ𐭩The entire structure, from its foundations to its rooftop, was utterly devastated and left in ruins. Not only was the building itself severely damaged, but the destruction also extended to the surrounding area, spreading chaos and debris across the street. The once bustling street that the building stood on became a scene of destruction, with shattered glass and debris scattered everywhere, along with a smoke screen due to dust and dirt. You were looking for any more people that might have been under the heavy debris but you spotted none so far.
Right now, your main concern is the fact that you are sensing an aura that is similar to a demon's. You've experienced enough during your time as a human to know the difference between a demon's and an ordinary person's aura. As you walked through the area, the smoke screen slowly disappeared, and at perfect timing; a familiar face appeared.
"Tengen!" You called out, waving your hands excitedly as you rushed towards him. He seemed to be searching for any survivors that may still be alive. As he heard your call, Tengen lifted his head and turned around. When he caught sight of you, he waved.
"(Name)!" He called out with a sense of urgency, his voice echoing in the close vicinity. Startled, you swiftly made your way towards him, each step pushing you closer to the source of his summons. Your legs responded instinctively, the adrenaline coursing through your veins propelling you forward at a rapid pace.
Upon reaching him in a matter of seconds, you paused to catch your breath, the rhythmic rise and fall of your chest reflecting the speed at which you had traversed the distance. As you stood before Tengen, you mustered a bright grin, the corners of your lips turning upward despite the persistent foul odour in the air. You consciously tried to maintain your composure, suppressing any involuntary grimace that threatened to surface in response to the unpleasant scent that lingered around you.
"Is that you?" you inquired, playful curiosity lacing your tone as you took a subtle step back, allowing a small gap between you and Tengen. The glint of mischief in your eyes hinted at a hidden agenda, a playful tease dancing beneath the surface of your question.
Tengen responded with a chuckle, his amusement evident in the soft timbre of his voice. "What are you talking about?" he replied, a quizzical expression crossing his features as he regarded you with gentle curiosity. A subtle raise of his eyebrows conveyed his bemusement at your sudden retreat, prompting him to wonder about the motives behind your intriguing behaviour.
"Who are you?" All sense of playfulness slowly disappeared into something serious, a spark glittering in your eyes as you held his gaze steadily. A brief pause hung in the air, the silence laden with unspoken questions as your eyes roamed over Tengen's form, observing the nuances of his demeanour and appearance with keen interest.
In response to your unexpected query, Tengen's eyes widened imperceptibly, a hint of surprise flickering across his features before being masked by a mask of amusement and intrigue.
"What's wrong, (Name)?" He asked. "You're acting weird."
"Stop it." You sighed, cautiously raising your nichirin. "Whoever this is, You're not Tengen."
Tengen chuckled again, shaking his head. "Why would you say that?" he questioned, feigning innocence.
Your lips twitched in disapproval at his actions. After having lived among these people for quite a large span of your life, you were quite sensitive towards their ways of showing affection and expressing affection. So whenever people acted in such a strange way, you knew something was off.
