Nischay got up early and Y/n followed suit. It was a first of him to wake up before her but he did so, as he had some urgent important work to get done with.
Y/n was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for everyone and today's dish was জোলপান (Jalpan) made by herself using popped rice. Its texture is pretty similar to what we call as porridge but not the exact same.
In Assamese, we call it Akhoi and in Bengali, it is called Khoi.

Y/n had made a fine powder of the popped rice and added some sugar, dry fruits, honey and clarified butter. After adding it all, she poured some hot water on the bowls and a delicious fragrance was spread across the kitchen.
Everyone came out of their rooms, getting pulled by the delicious scent.
Y/n: Maine aap sab ke liye raditional Assamese jalpan banaya hai ghar pe popped rice ko ek fine powder banake.
Nish: Aree waah Y/n interesting!
Y/n: Hmm interesting toh hai. Yeh meri childhood favourite dish hai aur main jalpan waise bhi kabhi bhi khaa leti thi jab bhookh lagti thi. Isse pet achhe se bhar jaata hai aur yeh health ke liye kaafi nutritious hota hai. Assam ke kisaan yeh jalpan hi khaake subah kheti karne chale jaate hai tabhi woh financially itna strong nahi hokar bhi, physically kaafi strong aur energetic hote hai.
N/d: Waah beta! Tumhe toh kitna kuch pata hai apne culture ke baare mein. Waah!
Y/n (smiles): Aree papa ismein kya rakha hai?
N/m (tastes the porridge): Khair jo bhi kaho, yeh jalpan khaane mein hai toh bohot tasty.
Nish: Aur Y/n ne itne pyaar aur humari chinta ke baare mein se banaya hai isse, toh yeh tasty kaise nahi hota?❤
