LA Airport
Airplanes were either landing or taking off, some people were either waiting or sending off their loved ones as they watched the airplanes.
Mordecai held his bag across his shoulder as his luggage was placed beside him, he looked down while browsing through his phone, his posture made him look like a model, compared with his height. Many girls and young women were stealing glances at him as they walked past by. Some even took pictures of him.
"Guess you still got your charm, hmm?" A baritone voice said as a pair of boots came into his sights while he was looking.
Mordecai smiled, as he looked up at an old man, who had a smile on his face which edified the wrinkles around his eyes, "Uncle... Uncle Seth"
The old man, Uncle Seth, who despite being old still had a straight back though he was not as tall as Mordecai, he looked at the teenager in front of him and he felt remorseful. "From now on, I'll take care of you"
Mordecai immediately felt his eyes getting wet, he immediately broke down in tears as Uncle Seth immediately took him into his embrace and patted his back.
Some people who were passing by looked at them, cos they felt weirded by the fact that a delinquent looking boy was crying.
((A/N: normally, delinquents and villains do not seem to be seen as people who could have ability to cry, I guess I'm not the only one, who thinks like this??)
Sometime later, Mordecai sat in the shotgun seat while Uncle Seth drove his pickup truck as they reminisced with each other.
"Sarah misses you so much, so I'm sure she'll be happy that you're staying in town this time" Uncle Seth said while his eyes were still on the road.
"Oh, I've missed her too, you both were the only one who visited me during my time in prison, this debt, I'll repay it a hundred folds" Mordecai said as he clenched his fists.
Uncle Seth chuckled, "Don't rush it, boy... We both just want you to be happy now, your dark days are over, start afresh here"
Mordecai nodded, "I plan on doing that, first off, I'll have to continue my education, you got any nice school you did recommend me??"
Uncle Seth swerved towards the side of the road and parked, he turned to look at Mordecai who rose an eyebrow in confusion, "have you thought well about that?"
"Yes, why not... Mom wanted me to graduate and I will do just that, but I'll have to graduate from highschool first" Mordecai replied after some thought.
The old man stared at Mordecai, the words he spoke didn't look like they would come out of the lips of someone with that kind of aura or face. You can't blame him though, Mordecai right now, looked like a delinquent.
Pushing his thoughts to the back of his head, Uncle Seth chuckled, "You just arrived, I'll run your admission into one of the best highschool for you, just go home and rest"
"Wouldn't that be troublesome??" Mordecai said as the pickup resumed back its ride on the road towards the highway.
"No, it's not... It's what I'm meant to do anyways" Uncle Seth's voice could be heard from the driver's seat.
....
"Come over sometime, for some steak" Uncle Seth hollered as he drove off with a wave.
Mordecai watched the pick up drive towards the distance before adjusting his bag across his shoulder, then he looked around his new neighbourhood.
There was a children's park just opposite where he was standing and he could see some children playing there while some of their parents sat in a lawn chair watching them. There was a storey building, with the convenience store below while a studio was above it. A hair salon was at the beginning of the street. Occupying the other spots were houses of different kinds.
