Ding ding
The bell rang marking the end of the class, as the teacher walked out of the class before the students began to chat and gossip with each other as some of them gathered in circles and muttered to each other.
Their topics revolved around the delinquent looking boy who was packing his books into his bag.
"Xi, you've been staring intensely at him, do you know him?" Trevor came over to Axis seating area and sat on a desk beside hers as he stole a glance at Mordecai.
"Of course, she knows her... He's the one who rejected her" Nora said as she sat on Axis' desk.
"Eeh... It's him... Looking at his face and demeanor, I guess it's plausible" Trevor nodded.
Axis turned and narrowed her eyes at him, "what do you mean it's plausible??"
Trevor gave a wry smile to which Nora chuckled at, "what's it to you, Xi... He just didn't give you his number... What's the big deal about it?"
"Well... " Axis said. Yeah, why am I bothered about it... No one has rejected me before, I am the only one meant to reject others not the other way around.
"I am the only one allowed to reject others..."
Nora and Trevor looked at her before they both broke out laughing, causing Axis to feel embarrassed as he cheeks flushed red, she just thought about how ridiculous she must have sounded.
Mordecai looked down at the phone stretched out in front of him, looking up at its owner, a dark brown haired girl with spectacles stared at back at him with a flushed face as her blue eyes shook.
'how cute' Mordecai thought as he accepted the girl's phone and inputted his number before giving it back to the girl who looked at him in a daze.
"I'll rely on you from now, class president" Mordecai said as he gave a curt bow.
The class president came out of her daze as her demeanor changed from shy to bold and she looked at Mordecai with a profound gaze. "Don't cause trouble from now on, I'll try and sort out your issue from this morning"
Mordecai smiled inwardly, "I'll keep your words in mind, thank you"
The class president turned around and left, staring at her back, Mordecai shook his head as he chuckled. 'I guess this school ain't so bad after all'
He looked towards Axis and their eyes met, she was staring back at him, she wasn't the only one, the boy on her right and the girl sitting on her desk were staring at him. They all had different expressions, the dominant one was intrigue followed by anger, and it was coming from Axis.
"Just because I didn't give you my number... You're like this?" Mordecai muttered as he placed his hand under his chin and stared at Axis before winking at her. She immediately turned around and Mordecai found it somewhat interesting.
The classroom door opened as a middle aged woman walked in with a pile of papers in her hands.
"Alright, lads settle down in your seats" the woman said as everyone went back to their various seats.
"Mrs. Austin, what are we doing today?" Someone asked.
"I'm sure you're asking because of these papers in my hands..." Mrs Austin said as she looked around the class, pausing her gaze on Mordecai she nodded.
"... Don't fret though, there's no test, but I'll be giving you guys a project to work on, to which you all will submit four weeks from now, you will work on the project in pairs" Mrs Austin continued.
