Okay, so far so good. As I predicted, the prince couldn't get much closer to me thanks to the mob of nobles crowding him.
He tried. Oh, he sure did try. And the second he managed to get the nobles off him Luden and Avis distracted him while I sprinted out into hiding.
"Good job my minions!" I patted the both on the back as they gave me two very offended side-eyes.
"If we keep this up the family won't be sent to execution!" I added as they both decided not to give me another tongue-lashing for the sake of the duchy.
"Still, we should be careful." Luden pointed out shooting me a glare.
"Of course, of course. I'm not stupid." I frowned at him, bitch couldn't take a joke.
"You're not?" Avis and Vidoro questioned is sync, earning both of them a slap on the back of the head in the process.
"Hey! What was that for?!" Avis yelled rubbing the back of his head.
"Cause you said something stupid." I replied crossing my arms and turning away from him.
And just like that, yet another bicker session started.
That is until Luden pulled us apart as kicked both of us out of the room.
...
Since the hunting festival was a one to two week long event.
The imperial family had the esteemed guests stay in one of the palaces room while others had to go get a villa or something at a place nearby.
So as an Divinus, I was also given the privilege of being able to stay at the palace. But that just gave the crown prince more opportunities to approach me.
I brought this up to Luden and he thought long and hard about this, it was honestly funny how much he had to rack his brain over what to do with me.
And finally informed me about a section of the palace where the crown prince never stepped foot in.
He asked for permission form the emperor directly before the servants moved my stuff into the other room in the other section of the palace.
"Please, remember my lady. You mustn't wander around these halls at night." The 18th butler of the palace warned me for 11th time.
He was a young gentleman who seemed to be in his early twenties, with brown hair and eyes and tanned skin. He seemed to be new here.
"I got it, I got it! What the deal with
this place anyway?" I question just shut him up before continuing when he didn't answer."Is it haunted with the crown prince's siblings' ghost or something?" I added half-jokingly but then noticed the butler tense up.
"... It seems I have no choice but to tell you now..." The butler muttered dramatically.
"Eh? Tell me what?" I finally turned to meet the butlers eyes, well, I couldn't since he was looking down at his feet suddenly.
"The truth is my lady... There have been rumors of a ghost roaming around these halls at night..." The butler scanned the room before leaning on closer.
"The people have been talking and they say... That she's the ghost of his highness's younger sister!" He suddenly whispered in my ear, that's bullshit.
"Eh? Why?" I was about to voice my opinion on the matter before remembering the etiquette classes Luden assigned to me and decided not to.
"It's said that she has the exact same hair color as the late queen, the crown prince's mother." The butler informed as I gave him a puzzled look.
"But didn't the late queen die along with the baby on the day of the crown prince's younger sister's birth?" I questioned, that was definitely what the game said.
