Chapter 22:

In all honesty, I would've preferred spending the rest of the hunting festival in my room and so would have the duke and brothers.

But then I wouldn't be able to annoy the fucking hell out of Anartis and get him to decapitate me.

Plus, the crown prince would probably take offense to it being the prideful bastard he was so Luden would've forced me out anyway.

"Where's Anartis?" I asked Avis as I scanned the place.

"Probably hiding in some corner from you. I don't blame him, I would too." Avis responded sipping on his coffee.

"That's lovely, Avis. Now come help me find him." I grabbed his arm yanked his away as he ended up accidentally splashing the coffee on his face.

"SOVINE!" Avis yelled as all eyes turned to us.

"Oh, fuck- Actually, I'll go find him myself." I bolted as Luden grabbed Avis and sprinted out of the other noble's view.

-----

I hid in the imperial garden and searched for Anartis from there after that, I eventually found him when I finally decided it was safe to go back.

But he bolted the second he saw me.

'Who the fuck runs away from their fiancé? Like seriously?' But I chased him regardless.

Until Avis came back and I had to hide in the stable with the horses from him.

"FOUND YOU!" Avis suddenly lunged out of a stack of hay, startling both me and the horse.

"WHAT THE FUCK- OH FUCK!" I cursed again as the horse slammed its hoove into Avis's face, I don't know how he didn't get a broken nose.

"I'll get Luden!" I ran out of the stable, a little to actually get Luden but mostly to get away from Avis before he caught me.

I was halfway hoping the horse would finish him off too. I hadn't forgotten everything he had done to Sovine yet.

I saw Luden among a mob of nobles, all trying to kiss up to the next grand Duke of the Divinus family. And had to squeeze through all of them to get to him.

"Luden!" I whispered, and being the watch's of the family who heard every creak of the house and kept everything running and in place.

He of course heard me, and the first thing he did was send a death glare at me before excusing himself from the nobles.

Seeing that he was approaching me, the nobles didn't stop him thinking that I caused some trouble and he was going to fix it.

But once they saw him walk off without me, they got curious and approached me in hopes of finding some fault in the Divinus family.

"My lady? Has there been some issue?" One of the noblewomen in the crowd asked.

"Oh, of course not." I responded before realizing there was no way in hell that that would be enough for be enough for them.

So why not do something that'll either cause trouble for them or help them?

"Well, I'm not supposed to tell you this..." I muttered as I waved to her to come closer.

"Apparently someone has poisoned one of our horses for the festival." I whispered to her as she gasped in surprise.

"Such treachery! Who could do such a thing?!" She exclaimed as I put my finger to my mouth and tried to shush her.

"Keep your voice down! My brother just went to investigate who it was. I'm sure he'll make them and everyone involved pay dearly." I whispered to her.

"Even if they were only slightly involuntary involved." You added with an innocent smile a moment after to cause her to grow anxious.

After all, framing wasn't something uncommon in high society, at it was even more common in these types of events.

"I-I see..." The lady muttered before excusing herself and running off, probably to gossip about this to others.

'Well, that's dealt with. Now to find Anartis... There!' I finally caught sight of Anartis once more in the crowd of people.

Unfortunately, just as I had, he had also seen me and immediately attempted to sneak away.

But it wasn't going to be that easy to get away from me.

'Hah! How cute! He thinks he can get away from mwah? He has no idea how many times I had to struggle to find Vidoro for his afternoon training and search through every nook and cranny of the damn mansion because of his height advantage in hiding!'

So basically, there was no escape from me.

And I found in within five seconds, and caught up to him in with two seconds.

"Your grace! It's such a pleasure to see you here!" I popped up next to Anartis as he flinched back as the final announcement to join the hunting went off.

"Ah, apologies my lady. I must go and participate in the hunting festival." Anartis quickly said before turning on his heels and walking off at light speed.

"Huh? But you've never participated before?" I asked with a puzzled face though he was already long gone before realizing that he was actually signing up.

'Did this bitch seriously just sign up just so he could stay away from me?' And it was only like our 3rd meeting.
