CHAPTER 1

shinji ikari didn't entirely know what to expect when he pierced himself with the spear of gaius, he had hoped to create a world where the angels and EVAs never existed and yet, he awoke to find himself in a well lit room, but it was clear this was a cell of some kind

"Patient is awake" a male voice said before walking over

"Good morning I am doctor tatsuo suzuhara, what may I ask is your name" the middle-aged man asked

"Shinji, ikari shinji" I said

"Is your first name shinji or your last" he asked

"My last name is ikari" I said, he sighed

"So our hypothesis is likely correct then" he said, looking at me with a pitying expression on his face, a few moments later, an older looming woman with graying hair walked in

"Well" she asked

"I have only just gotten his name, bit his form of introduction proves he is at least a time traveler of some form, my scientists have informed me that his giant weapon, is biological in nature and is currently active, we have ust to find a way to shut it off, we are hesitant to try and disect it, as we are unsure exactly what it is or how damaging it could be" the doctor said

"Bury it" I said, the two turned to him

"Excuse me" the old woman asked

"Find some dessert and bury it, it is the most dangerous weapon ever built, a weapon that was designed by people who still have no clue of the powers that they were messing with" I said

"And you do" the woman asked

"Ma'am if I had my way that thing should have killed itself instead it sent me and itself here" she said

"We may not have to worry about that" the doctor said

"Explain" she asked

"We are receiving grimoire levels from it, the unit is changing that transformation can not be stopped and will soon be complete" the doctor said

"I see, well then, it seems that it is likely our navy will have a new magus" she said

"A what" I asked

She walked over input a code into a panel, causing a barrier that was in front of the entrance of the cell I was in to deactivate

"Come" she ordered, I followed her

"How old are you, boy" she asked

"I'm supposed to be fifteen the rest is complicated" I said, she nodded

"Welcome aboard my patrol destroyer, I am captain hikari soryu" she said

"Good to meet you ma'am" I said politely

"The magus are special individuals who have been chosen by higher beings to wield mana to cast special spells we call noble arts, by recruiting individuals we call djinns magi can boost their powers and unlock more noble arts by opening archives within their grimoires, magi are rare in our society and as such are highly covetted by many parties, especially the higher tiered magi who are more powerful, if this weapon of yours was once so dangerous then it is likely you will be a high-tiered magus" she said, I blanched

"There are many laws in place to protect you however, in return for that protection you are expected to serve in the union federal navy, or the UFN" she said, I sighed

"Do I have to serve the rest of my life" I asked

"No, you'd spend a few years at the academy then you'd serve for five years, after which what you do with your life and your power is no one's choice but your own" she said

"Then I guess I'm going to this academy" I said

"Not yet, they don't allow students until they are sixteen, we don't employ child soldiers" she said

"Im sorry" I said meekly, not wanting to cause offense

"In the meantime, you will stay with me, I will do my best to train you to use your new powers, so that you survive your service and you are able to serve at least somewhat well" she said, ignoring my previous apology
