"I know you better." Nico insisted.

"No, I know you better." Will said, crossing his arms.

Bianca laughed. "It's not that serious. I just need to write someone down as an emergency contact on my applications."

"But there's only one slot. You have to pick your parent." Nico shrugged. "And you'll pick me."

"Um, she's going to pick me." Will rolled his eyes.

"I came up with her name!"

"She said my name first!"

"She resembles me the most!"

"But she always gets compliments for her eye color, which she gets from me."

"My name comes first alphabetically! It'll be easier to find in the records if they're alphabetical."

"My name makes up the majority of her last name. It's easier to match us up."

"Well, I held her first!"

"Oh my gods! Why are we fighting over this?" Bianca exclaimed.

"Well, because—" Will paused and turned to his husband. "Why are we fighting over this?"

"To prove something?" Nico shrugged.

"Oh, ok." Another pause. "And what are we proving?"

"Something."

Will crossed his arms and nodded solemnly. "We're trying to prove something."

Bianca rolled her eyes. "Is there some other way of just picking someone? Like a civil discussion or—I dunno—rock, paper, scissors?"

Nico scoffed. "Bianca, please. We're adults. We don't solve problems by playing rock, paper, scissors."

Bianca just stood there, dumbfounded. She opened her mouth to say something, but promptly closed it.

"Arm wrestle it is, then." Will announced.

"How is that more grown up—"

"Deal. Let's do it." Nico agreed.

She sighed.

Her fathers walked to the dining room table, both determined to beat the other.

They placed their elbows on the table and locked hands.

"Bianca, call it!" Will told her.

His daughter sighed. "Go."

Immediately, both of their grips on each other's hands tightened, biceps flexing against the other's efforts.

"I still don't understand the point of all of this. I love you both equally."

"We know, sweetheart. We're just competing to see who Parent One will be."

"Oh, I was just asking about my emergency contact. My family information is already filled in. I put Dad down first since he's the one who signs most of my school stuff since he's there at school anyway."

Nico stopped wrestling and just stared at his daughter flabbergasted. "What?"

Will took the opportunity to push Nico's arm down and pin it to the table. "BAM!"

"Bia." Nico looked at her, defeated. "Parent two?"

"I'll put Papa down as my emergency contact, then. So it even out. Even though this doesn't actually matter."

"You're the best, Bia."

"Parent one! Woohoo!" Will flexed his winning bicep.

Nico laughed and rolled his eyes. "Oh, shut up."
