A few days after my chat with my parents and Oakley, I was sent on the train to New York. Apparently the school knew about my arrival since my dad did call beforehand.
"Sweetheart, you'll be good for me, right?" My mother had both hands on my head, looking into my eyes with tears in her eyes.
"Oh mom." I said with tears in my eyes. "I'll be better than ever. Even if I have these on my back." I smiled, mentioning the wings on my back as to how I ended up going to a mutant school of all things.
I look over to my dad, he just looks as upset as my mother did. "Daddy." I said, he had tears growing in his eyes. "My sweet baby girl." He said as he pulled me into a hug. "I love you sweetheart." He kissed my head as I heard the loud speakers say the train to New York is leaving in 5 minutes.
"I'll miss you both." I said to my parents. As I got on the train, got into my seat, I stared at them through the window, scared of my new possibilities and new things I'll be able to learn. Meet new people, make new friends, maybe even meet a new boy.
I already said my goodbyes to Oakley, since she was gonna be really busy today. I was upset I couldn't say goodbye today, Oakley was just as upset.
I got a text on my phone, and immediately smiled. "HEY DOVEY, I'm still pissed I couldn't say goodbye to you at the train station today. Stupid work. But I just wanted to say, KEEP ME UPDATED, keep me in the loop. If you meet a new boy toy, LET me know. please, we still need our girly talk. Love you Dove. Good luck with the wings. 😉" I laughed silently to myself as the train started to move.
