_Bike Ride_
Vedika clung to the rider's jacket, her eyes fixed on the road ahead. The wind whipped through her hair as memories flooded her mind.
_Flashback_
Vedika's phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out, seeing "Dr. Rao" displayed on the screen.
"Hello?" Vedika answered, her voice laced with concern.
"Vedika, it's Dr. Rao," the gentle voice on the other end said.
Vedika's grip on the phone tightened. "What's wrong, Doctor?"
"Her condition has taken a turn for the worse. She needs urgent surgery," Dr. Rao explained.
Vedika's eyes widened. "What happened?"
"The doctors are ready to operate, but we require a deposit of 2 lakh rupees before we can proceed," Dr. Rao said.
Vedika's voice trembled. "Can't you...can't you just do it? She's really sick, right?"
Dr. Rao's tone turned sympathetic. "I understand, Vedika, but hospital policies...and besides, she specifically asked to see you before the surgery."
Vedika's breath caught. "She wants to see me?"
"Yes. She's been asking for you nonstop," Dr. Rao said.
Vedika's resolve hardened. "I'll be right there."
Dr. Rao's voice softened. "Vedika, prepare yourself. Her condition is critical."
Vedika's face paled as she ended the call.
_Back to the Present_
The bike screeched to a halt outside the hospital. Vedika's gaze snapped back to the present.
"Thanks," Vedika said, rushing off the bike.
The rider watched her disappear into the hospital entrance.
Vedika's heart pounded as she pushed through the doors.
_Biker's Perspective_
The biker watched Vedika rush off the bike, her scarf slipping from her neck and landing near his foot.
He picked up the scarf, examining it. The soft fabric felt unfamiliar in his gloved hand.
The biker glanced up, his gaze following Vedika as she entered the hospital.
Through his helmet's visor, he saw her approach the reception desk.
Vedika's back was to him, her words inaudible.
The biker's curiosity piqued.
He tucked the scarf into his jacket pocket.
With a swift motion, he removed his helmet.
Aarav's chiseled features emerged, his eyes locked onto Vedika's retreating figure.
As she turned right, disappearing from view, Aarav's gaze lingered.
His expression transformed from curiosity to concern.
Aarav's thoughts swirled:
Who was this girl?
What brought her to the hospital?
He remained outside, watching the hospital entrance.
Vedika, oblivious to the biker's identity, continued inside.
_Hospital Room_
Vedika rushed inside, her eyes scanning the room until they landed on a frail figure in a wheelchair.
