--------------------------------------------------------------
Few days later, I was heading back to my office after a long day of lectures when I overheard a group of girls talking near the lockers. Their voices echoed in the hallway, and I had no intention of eavesdropping, but something in their conversation caught my attention."Yaar, I can't believe Amina actually went into professor Hassan's office thinking it was legit," Shanzay said, laughing. “I just told her the professor wanted assignments there. She looked so scared! And then the way professor Hassan reacted—oh my God, too good!”
Another one of her friends chimed in, “You seriously pulled that off so well, Shanzay! Poor girl, she must've been so confused!”
Shanzay kept laughing. "I know! I just wanted to mess with her a little, but her face when she walked in… priceless."
My heart sank. Shanzay. The name clicked instantly. Amina had mentioned a girl sent her to my office that day—the day I exploded on her. The day I acted out of frustration, thinking she was part of some foolish prank, without even realizing she had been tricked herself.
I clenched my fists. How could I have been so blind? I should've listened. I should've asked more questions. The guilt hit me hard, and I knew I had to do something about it.
Without wasting a second, I walked straight to the group. My tone was cold, authoritative—something I rarely showed outside of the classroom. "Shanzay, follow me to the office. Now."
She blinked, Her face pale, confusion washing over her face. "S-sir? What happened?"
I didn't respond, just turned and walked away. She and her group followed reluctantly. Once inside my office, I commanded leaning back on my chair arms folded in front. "Explain"
