AEGONLEANED against the doorframe, arms crossed and a smirk playing on his lips, but beneath that façade lay an unmistakable softness. As Maelys approached him, he pushed himself away from the wall and pulled her into a brief but tight embrace.
"Don't let them turn you into a snowflake, little sister," he teased, trying to mask his genuine concern with jest. "Stay fierce. If anyone tries to bully you, you just tell them you're a Targaryen. They'll think twice."
Maelys smiled through her tears, grateful for his light-heartedness. "I will, Aegon," she replied, her voice shaky. "Promise."
She pulled away, searching his face, feeling the weight of unspoken words. "I'll miss you." He nodded, his playful grin faltering for a brief moment as he ruffled her hair, then turned his back to her, hiding the glimmer of unshed tears in his eyes.
Helaena stood off to the side, her gaze fixed on a distant flower, fingers delicately twirling a strand of her hair. When Maelys stepped forward, she seemed to come alive, her expression softening as she met her sister's eyes.
"You will be so far away," Helaena murmured, stepping closer to envelop Maelys in a warm embrace. "I'm scared for you. What if you don't fit in? What if they don't like you?"
Maelys squeezed her sister tightly, feeling Helaena's warmth seep into her. "You have always been the kindest, Helaena. I will carry your light with me. I promise to make you proud."
Helaena pulled back, searching her sister's face for reassurance. "Just remember, you are never truly alone. I will always be with you in spirit." The sisters locked eyes, both silently promising to hold each other in their hearts, no matter the distance.
Aemond stood rigidly, arms crossed tightly over his chest, a distant storm brewing in his violet eyes. He had always been the most serious of the siblings, often shrouded in shadows, but as Maelys approached, the tension melted away momentarily.
"You're going to do great," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Show them what it means to be a Targaryen." Maelys met his gaze, trying to find the comfort she had always felt from her brother, but his expression was hard to read. "Aemond, I—" she began, but he interrupted her, stepping closer and placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Just... be strong. You have my support, even if I don't always say it." The uncharacteristic softness in his tone surprised her, and she nodded, a tear escaping down her cheek.
"I'll hold on to that, Aemond. I'll make you proud." He nodded solemnly, and she caught a glimpse of vulnerability in his eyes before he turned away, the mask of stoicism slipping back into place.
KingViserys sat upon the Iron Throne, a regal figure cloaked in the burden of leadership, yet when Maelys approached, his demeanor softened. "My sweet Maelys," he said, his voice laced with fatherly love. "You are embarking on a journey that will shape you into the woman you are destined to become. I am proud of you, more than you know."
