Flick
Cliche. That's what I called my love for him. I thought he was the guy I thought he was. Turned out he was the exact opposite. He looked like a playboy that can be changed by by true love at first impression. Until I knew who he really is. He let me knew who he really is.
"You done baking those?" mom asked.
"Yup."
I'm baking cookies for him again. I do this everyday since the start of junior year and now we're both seniors.I begin walking to school to put these cookies inside his locker. Yeah, inside his locker. His best friend is also my best friend, Brenner. He told me his locker's pin to place my cookies or whatever I want to give to him and I think until now he doesn't know who is giving him cookies with smiley faces on it.
After a 20-minute walk to school of just thinking of his reaction on my cookies, I arrived at the familiar gate I enter every morning. I immediately run to his locker. I place the cookies inside and am about to close when I heard his voice.
"Bring me cookies again?"
My body might be like a statue right now but my inside are wildly panicking. It's so early for him to come to school considering it's just 5:30 in the morning and they don't even have practice this early. Even if he is the captain of the football team!
I can't move and he's murmuring words that I can't hear clearly because of the loud pondering of my chest. I don't want to look back to his actions but the moment I his breath touched my neck totally changed my decision. He whispered to my ear and I'm still not looking back.
"Gotcha."
I jump and am about to escape his presence when he grabbed my wrist stopping me. "Face me Flee. Let's talk."
I face him and am surprise when he touched both sides of my face. He's looking deeply into my eyes with a gorgeous smile plastering on his face.
"W-w-what?" I stuttered.
"Why are you opening my locker?"
"I was just..."
"Just what?"
He's taking steps towards me that make our faces closer. He trapped me with his arms on closed lockers near his still opened locker. His smile is still there like teasing me and eyes glittering in.... victory?
"You're just what Flee? Put cookies inside my locker every morning and not bothering to mention it is you who are giving those?"
"How did you knew I was the one who put cookies inside your locker everyday?"
"You can't hide anything from me Flee."
I'm really confused of how did he knew about my hobby every morning. His face turned serious and he asked me the question I never expected to came out of his mouth.
"Do you like me?"
"You've gotta be kidding me! Why would I like my bestfri-"
"Because I like you. A lot."
Okay that's it! Why would he like me a lot if I'm not the girl of his dreams?! There are a lot of better girls than me that could fulfill his needs and wants! Even I'm just here liking him secretly doesn't mean I want something in return!
"You're lying. Please stop playing with me because I know you better than anyone else."
"I'm not lying Flee. And you don't know me. No one knows the real me."
"What do you mean?"
"Just answer my question honestly."
I don't know if this is the hardest or easiest thing I'm about to say but this answer will surely take that heaviness from my heart. I take a deep breath and answered him.
"Yes."
"You answered yes which means..."
"Which means what?"
"Which means I'll do my best to let you know the real me and get the final answer that I need."
He makes me terrify. I push him and run away from him going to the only peaceful place I know.
