| Elliott |

Ash had stayed over for the entire weekend because I didn't want to be left alone with Damian.

It was a pretty chill weekend where we played games on my PC or watched a TV show.

Sadly, It was already Monday morning when Damian was knocking on the door, trying to wake us up.

"Elliott, I wake up, school starts in an hour! And I will take you to school because I heard from dad that you had broken your leg! " He yelled, his voice deep and rough around the edges.

I almost jumped out of bed since I got frightened because he never went near my bedroom, this was the first time he even had knocked on my door.

But did he know I was his mate? The hallway to my bedroom is covered in my scent.

Hold up, did the pack doctor tell Richard about my leg? It seems like it.

"Also, can I talk to your friend for a second? I will be waiting in the kitchen." He didn't ask because it sounded more like an order.

But why did he want to talk with Ash? He has never talked to my best friend before.

At that moment it clicked in my mind, Damian thought Ash was his mate?

"He thinks you're mates..." I felt a bitter emotion rise within me.

"What? Why?" Ash opens his eyes, sitting up on the bed since he had just woken up.

"I don't know... He must have confused our scents." I mumbled under my breath.

"Oh shit, how could he make such a weird assumption..." His words began to falter when he realized how Damian made that kind of assumption.

"I went to the bathroom during the night. I think he must have been in the hallway because I saw a large figure standing there, but I thought my mind was making up things since I was half asleep." Ash explained, yawning in the process.

"Are you for real?" I whispered.

I was a bit sad that Damian took one look at my best friend and was like: It must be my mate.

But I couldn't blame him, he hadn't heard from his wolf for over four years, he couldn't even shift, no wonder he was so desperate.

"Elliott, you have to make up your mind sooner or later. Will you tell him that you are mates or not? I know that he's a man whore, that he ignores you like a corpse, but isn't it better if you went through with it, instead of worrying about it?" Ash questioned, since he was concerned about me.

"I'm terrified, Ash... What if he never wants to see me again because he's disgusted by having me as his mate?" I say, feeling hopeless about the situation.

What would everyone in town think that two stepbrothers are mates? Damian might get kicked out from the pack, even if he's the Alpha.

Still, it would be hard to throw Damian out because he's extremely tough and nobody wants to mess with him unless you got a death wish.

"If Damian rejects you... I promise that you can come and stay with me until graduation, you're not alone in this." He pats me on the shoulder whenever he wants to comfort me.

"What day would be perfect? I don't want to do it on a Monday morning... Maybe I should text him and say that I want to talk to him over dinner?" I thought deeply about it.

"That sounds good, you can do it next weekend once your leg is better? Right now you can focus on gathering your thoughts since you only found out that Damian is your mate a few days ago, so the shock is still there." His words give me much comfort and support.

"I agree with you. I want to do it once my legs get better because if he rejects me, I want to at least have the ability to run away from him." I muttered, but it makes my best friend laugh his ass off.

I went on to ask, "What should we do in this situation? If you approach Damian, he will know that you're not his mate and that I'm his mate. He's not that dumb."

"I guess we will have to go through the window in order to avoid him." Ash replied, standing up from the bed and putting on his clothes.

"Should I text Damian now?" I asked him.

"Sure, as long as he doesn't come running inside like his ass is on fire." Ash responds, looking at himself in the mirror.

"Trust me, he won't come running." I mumbled, pulling out my phone.

I searched for Damian in my contacts until I found him right away, since I didn't have many phone numbers.

My hands started to tremble because I have never texted him in my life, it felt pretty scary.

Hey, this is Elliott.

Sorry, my friend can't meet with you today, he has to go to school early because he doesn't want to miss a test! But I wonder if you are free next weekend? I really need to talk to you about something very important. Can you on Saturday at 5 PM? - Elliott

"I sent him the text." I gave my best friend the phone since my hands couldn't stop shaking.

"This is good." Ash says, his eyes were glued on the phone screen until he almost choked on his breath.

"What?" I questioned, my heart was almost beating out of my chest.

"That was very fast!" Ash handed me the phone.

Elliott, I have time on Saturday at 5 PM, but I must talk with your friend. - Damian.

I promise that you can talk to him next weekend on Saturday when we meet. He's just very busy right now with school. - Elliott

Fine. - Damian

"He has agreed to talk with me next weekend!" I smile, feeling both excited and terrified.

"Keep that smile because you're going to need it." Ash says, before he helps me climb out the window.

Yeah, I was going to need all the strength I could get.
