Another month passed, It was a Friday morning when I had a Biology class with Ash. Both of us had finished our exams, so we headed to the library to hang out for a while.
We sat down on the couch in the corner out of people's sight as we looked through different books, as my best friend's bodyguard kept his distance.
Until I placed a hand on my belly because my baby was kicking which felt like butterflies in my stomach.
"Is the baby kicking?" Ash questioned, sounding excited.
"Yeah..." I answered, grabbing his hand and putting his palm on my belly.
"Holy shit," He almost yelled, but stopped himself since we were in the library.
I smiled as It was less stressful going to school because Sophia's and Mia's mother, the principal, had been fired instead there was a new principal arriving soon.
"What do they feel like? The baby kicks." Ash asks, gently rubbing my baby belly.
"They feel like butterflies..." I answered, as my best friend pulled his hand away from my belly.
I looked at him, but he was wearing a frightful expression as he stared out the window.
"What is it, Ash?" I glanced out the window, where Damian's sports car was standing in the parking lot.
"What is Damian doing here?" I wanted to know since I hadn't seen his car these past weeks until now.
Damian got out of the car along with Mia Nash.
She was wearing a red velvet dress which showed off her curves. Her baby belly was huge as she placed a hand on her stomach, she was in her eight month.
Damian walked in first, while Mia followed him.
"I remember now... They are going to introduce the new principal, who's Nova's mother." Ash answered, which made my heart drop to my feet.
"I need to go." I put on the oversized black hoodie, which managed to cover my bump for now.
"You can't leave now, every student must be at the assembly hall since the Alpha will give a speech." His words made me feel hopeless.
"Fine, I won't leave, but let's sit at the back, I don't him to see me." I sighed, standing up from the couch.
Ash and I headed towards the large assembly hall where many students were gathered, most of them had taken the front seats.
We sat down at the back and waited for the assembly to begin. My nerves were killing me, I hadn't seen Damian since New Year's Eve when I tried to take my own life.
Ten minutes passed as all the students filled up the seats and the assembly finally began.
Damian walked on the stage, he was dressed in a black three-piece suit, he was handsome, but I could see the dark bags under his eyes and the lack of color on his face.
"He looks sick." Ash whispered, as I wasn't the only one who had noticed the changes.
The speech began as Damian's words sent chills down my spine since he was my mate.
He talked for about five minutes, thanking people for their donations, until he introduced the new principal.
Nova's and Kai's mother walked up the stage while the students applauded. The woman seemed way different from the old principal, who was rude and cruel.
I liked her, and I understood why Kai and Nova were good people, since they had a good mother in their lives.
Finally, the assembly came to an end, I rushed out of the room since I didn't want Damian to see me, not yet.
I didn't see where I was going as I bumped shoulders with someone, and the person was Mia, the woman who was carrying my mate's child.
"Oh, it's you? The guy who ruined my sister's face." Mia gritted her teeth, her black hair was in loose curls.
"What evidence do you have?" I mocked her, and thankfully, my baby bump was very well hidden.
Mia scowled, "How dare you disrespect me? You used to be Damian's stepbrother before his father divorced your mother, but now you are nothing."
"Okay? Is my worth based on my parents and my ranks? You can be an Alpha of the pack, but that doesn't automatically make you a good person." I told her, but she didn't seem to listen to my words.
"Who cares if you're good or bad? I don't care, just stay the fuck away from my family and Damian Reed, if I ever see you near him, I will pretend that you have pushed me down the stairs, trying to kill his child..." She warns me, and she's more insane than me.
"Mia Nash, you're picking a fight with an eighteen-year-old. Don't you have something better to do? Like try to make Damian fall in love with you? I bet my money that he avoids you like you're the plague, he doesn't ask about you or the baby because he doesn't care enough to ask..." I hit her right where it hurts.
Tears gathered in Mia's eyes as she crossed her arms, trying to shield herself.
"At nights, Damian locks himself up in his office and drinks his pain away until he falls asleep on his desk. Whenever you go and try to comfort him, you can hear him say my name in his sleep; Elliott, I love you. Elliott, I miss you. Elliott, come back to me. Is that the words he's saying?" I questioned, knowing I was right when Mia's eyes widen in shock.
"Mia, I really pity you. I always wondered what happens to omegas like you who get knocked up by the Alpha, but then their mate shows up? What will you do when your mate shows up? Do you think your mate will accept a person who got themselves pregnant on purpose by another man? Please, call me when your mate finds you, I will grab popcorn and laugh at you." I chuckled in her face as her face went red.
Out of nowhere, Mia slapped herself and then fell on the floor, she started to cry, acting like I was the one who hit her.
I hear footsteps rushing towards her, as the person is Damian Reed. He kneeled by her side, worrying about their baby.
"What happened? Is the baby okay?" He asks, his voice filled with worry about the baby, but not for her.
"I hit her in the face since she pushed me against the locker and tried to choke me." I say, which shocks the shit out of Mia, since she thought I would start to cry.
I walk pass them, stepping out of the school, feeling happy that I left Damian or else that would be my everyday life.
Yeah, I was definitely going to move away once I had enough money saved up for my baby.
